Does anyone else find that natural collection nail polish...

Lifts and peels off your nails with ease at the slightest bump, knock, drop of water, heat and certainly before the end of the day.

I'm so annoyed, its like that rubbish children's peel off nail varnish you used to get in magazines like sabrinas secrets! Angry

I use it to give myself French manicures and with a topcoat (also Natural Collection) it lasts for a week! Not tried the coloured ones though.

What what what? How did you manage that?!

I bought it for the purpose of french manicures and I think i'm doing it right, white tips, pink then clear topcoat? I let it dry in between each layer but it lifts and peels off in no time.

My manicurist used to do base coat, pink, tip, pink, top coat.

fluffy91 · 15/02/2011 16:31

Base coat.... do you think that might be where i could be going wrong?

I do a natural coloured basecoat, then white, then clear. But I like the WAG-style bright white tips - they are much admired by the teenage girls I teach!

Make sure it all dries properly before applying the next coat.

I don't think it's the way you're doing it. I think it's that the nail polish is shite.

If you want something to last a few days, I've found Rimmel Lasting Finish or Lycra Pro to be the best.

stressedanddepressed · 16/02/2011 11:02

I love the bright white tips too Smile

Could be, i bought that brand because it was cheap.
How much is Rimmel or Lycra Pro?

I'm wearing the silvery Natural Collection nail varnish right now - I put it on on Sunday and there's no chips. I am very pleasantly surprised. No base or top coat, just 2 coats.

TobyLerone · 16/02/2011 11:08

The Rimmel ones are slightly more expensive, but no more than a fiver, I wouldn't have thought. Cheap nail varnish is a false economy because you use twice as much, twice as often.
