Have already noticed lots of bright block colouring going on, not sure this is going to be my season.

ellangirl · 14/02/2011 21:13

and midi skirts

Meglet · 14/02/2011 21:16

fluoro Hmm I'm not 10.

Sportswear.

Maxi dresses.

ellangirl · 14/02/2011 21:46

I know I'd look a total frump that's all!

BelligerentGhoul · 14/02/2011 21:49

Flowers
Colour
Midi skirts

Scary things that I won't be bothering with, basically. :) Although I did buy a couple of maxis last year that I'm hoping I'll be able to wear again.

MrsPennySworth · 14/02/2011 21:54

Me also ellangirl !

Oh dear, may not be my season as well then - block print midi skirts don't really suit me either! Confused

Maxi dresses sound like a nice safe option though...

Do you mean sportwear as daywear Meglet? I must look quite the fasionista at the moment then whilst I'm still losing my post pregnancy pounds Grin

Flower patterns sound nice... although I'd probably end up not quite getting it right and looking a bit grannified!

Perusing the glossies, I can't see a "trend" that is "me" IYSWIM.

Flares are back in I've heard, which I'll embrace I think.

No no no to midi skirts.Shock
Not for the dumpy.

"Colour blocking" seems quite accessible. I think they mean wearing two different colours.Confused

HollyBollyBooBoo · 15/02/2011 01:32

Coral colour is all the rage, more as an accent colour with nude and navy.

echt · 15/02/2011 04:40

Coral seems to be on the racks in Oz very summer I've been here. In whole-garment blocks of colour. And it's still on the racks come sale time.

MoonGirl1981 · 15/02/2011 08:27

What are midi skirts?

notyummy · 15/02/2011 08:38

Maxis
Clogs/wedges
Flares - but skinny flares much more wearable
Flower prints (generally large print rather than ditsy)
Colour blocking

lackaDaisy · 15/02/2011 09:36

Moongirl midi skirts bit you mid-calf. Most unflattering on about 90% of the population. Even some models look frumpy in midi!

lackaDaisy · 15/02/2011 09:36

for example

MoonGirl1981 · 15/02/2011 09:59

Oh, no! I'd look terrible in one of they!

At 5'4" I look best in A line or prom style skirts to the knee or mid-thigh skirts/dresses with leggings.

Even that model looks shit - and you can tell by her face that she knows it!

polyhymnia · 15/02/2011 10:02

I'm sure that, as one of the more mature, everyone would think I was still wearing midis from last time around so will avoid. Intend to get a maxi skirt though, in denim. Luckily looks as if denim and Breton stripes will still be going strong for another season in the real world.

Coral is certainly everywhere - a colour I loathe. Noticed lots of it even in Comptoir des Cotonniers.

stressheaderic · 15/02/2011 10:05

Oh great, I love coral, and still have loads left from last summer.
Had a mooch in the high street yesterday but think we're still a bit 'between seasons' aren't we, there wasn't much I liked. Got a nice bird print tunic from Matalan in the end.
