Is a turn up on skinny jeans a no-no

Me again...

How do you deal with skinny jeans that aren't the right length.

I have a pair which are way too long (and given i am tall i don't know how they would be the right length for anyone), with boots it is fine I turn them up and no-one can see. I would like to wear them with ballet flats but am not sure if it looks ridiculous with a single turn-up. I think it looks worse to have them no turned up adn all bunched up over my ankle and i don't think turning them under looks great either.

I could get them shortened I supposed but then they would only be good for one height of shoes IYKWIM (i.e. either shorten to length for flats or heels)...

Views on a turn up?

fine imo

I do it, am only a 27" leg (ish) & don't have the patience to take up every pair I buy. Don't know whether it's a style no-no or not though. More a matter of laziness for me. Although, I don't think they look that bad tbh Smile

I do it & I think it looks ok. No-one has commented or sniggered at me. Not to face, anyway...

Meggles76 · 13/02/2011 13:56

I sometimes do it for a day time look with ballet flats.

I probably wouldn't do it if I was wearing them out with heels of an evening.

I do it with straight legs (am on the short and curvy side) and often wear them to work at Youth Club. Kids there do the same, so I'd say its fine Grin

If they're skinny, can't you just let them wrinkle?

traceybath · 13/02/2011 14:07

I did that all the time last spring/summer and with heels - it looks good I think.

PlumSykes · 13/02/2011 14:11

Coudl you turn them under? Prob wouldn't show as they are so close-fitting anyway.

verysomething · 13/02/2011 14:27

Turned up looks fine if you are going for jaunty/gamine ballet flats/converse etc, channelling audrey hepburn. Not for evening but I think scrunched a bit is okay with heels in that case...

whoneedssleepanyway · 13/02/2011 15:58

I think with heels it is ok as there is less to bunch up if you know what i mean as the heel accomodates some, it is just with flats..have had them turned up all day and think they look ok with ballet pumps.
