What colour tights and shoes with cobalt blue?

I've just bought this www.monsoon.co.uk/evening-dresses/winnie-frill-dress/invt/85319361/ for a special night out. Looks great, but I'm stuck for shoes and tights.
I know bare legs would look better, but it's February! I do like the bright tights and shoes look, my favourite dress pre-DD was hot pink which I wore with purple tights and shoes, alas my body is sooo not the right shape for that dress anymore!
Any ideas? TIA

I think I might do grey tights and red shoes, to release my inner Dorothy.

I have a similar coloured dress (although a knitted day one) and I usually wear it with grey opaques and dark burgundy shoes.

Very pretty dress.Cobalt is difficult, going down the primary colur route can look a bit children's tv presenter in real life, but the dress is so feminine and floaty that it gets away from that.I agree red shoes would be very very cute.Soft grey or dull nude tights.

JaneS · 12/02/2011 20:56

Another vote for grey - I'd go for dark grey and maybe ribbed tights as they look a bit less like school tights if they're not matte.

Lovely colour, btw!

FellatioNelson · 13/02/2011 08:47

I would wear very very sheer black or charcoal tights. Personally I wouldn't go for any texture ribbing/fishnet though I love them, because I think the dress has enough detail on it and the effect would be cluttered. I have a pair of black and cobalt suede platform courts which are drop-dead gorgeous but sadly no longer in stock.

Maybe a deep claret/ruby red rather than pillarbox red would be better - or black, but bejewelled and with multicoloured bits on.

Love love love the dress BTW.

FellatioNelson · 13/02/2011 08:55

these?

Sorry I take it back about black and bejewelled - I know what I mean in my head, but that description/visualisation is just wrong. Black shoes with that dress sounds bleugh.

FellatioNelson · 13/02/2011 09:07

may be too purpley?

FellatioNelson · 13/02/2011 09:17

whoops -try again.

I meant these

FellatioNelson · 13/02/2011 09:21

If you must have red make sure it's the right shade

FellatioNelson · 13/02/2011 09:24

heavenly

FellatioNelson · 13/02/2011 09:26

That last link was suppose to show the pinky/red colourway. The purple is lovely too, but probably wouldn't work.

FellatioNelson · 13/02/2011 09:26

supposed, not suppose.

FellatioNelson · 13/02/2011 09:34

cobalt

When I said black and multicoloured I meant something like this although I appreciate these might be slightly OTT. Confused

FellatioNelson · 13/02/2011 09:35

I'm enjoying this way too much. Blush Right. In the bath for me. No more shoes.

I've just realised that Personal Shopper would be my dream job. Grin

Where is everyone? Am I playing all on my own today? Sad

bumpypaws · 13/02/2011 13:37

Shoes and shoes and shoes - oh my!
I love the Karen Millen pink and purple ones Fellatio, but out of stock in my sizeSad.
I like the idea of bright coloured shoes rather than nude - the Carvela cobalt blue ones are a good match I think, but I'm never sure about a bar across the front of the foot - makes my legs look stumpy!
I'm thinking a contrast might be the way to go - love the pnky red ones from house of fraser.
Hmmmm.........much thinking to be done!
Thanks Smile

What about chalk white or cream opaques with red shoes?
