TIred of trousers but can't wear heels - what shoes work with pencil skirt?

Stuck in a trouser rut since developing sciatica.

Sick of it now and would love to get back into pencil skirts but can't wear my flat lace-ups with them, or tolerate even medium heels.

Kitten heels look stupid with my size 16 frame Blush and I need to be smart for work, so bows etc are out.

Has anyone seen a shoe that might work?

TIA

Flat smart boots?

Umm, think pencil skirts do need a bit of a heel otherwise it will just look wrong or frumpy.

Can you wear shoes with a small wedge?

What about heels this height? Not necessarily this actual shoe but I don't see why they would look wrong on a size 16 as they are not the dainty kitten heels you are prob referring to.

Didn't think of boots - good idea.

Will also try on some low-heel courts as you suggest FT.

Bit of a wedge would also help to make them look higher than they are.
