Help find smart shoes for a narrow flat footed me

Ok. You have already helped me with my boys' outfits for a wedding, now can you help me!

I have a dress from a few years ago. I need some black shoes. Here is the problem I have very narrow and flat feet. I have never worn heels or slip on shoes. I always need a strap of laces. Now the shoes I wore before made me feel like I was 11. They were flat and very uncomfortable. I have to walk a bit further in them this time so I don't think I can use them or else I will be crippled!

Can you recommend me some smart shoes that might fit perhaps even with a small heel? I live in jeans so I can wear my lace up shoes.

I'm dreading this wedding as I feel so self conscious in a dress and lose all my confidence(which isn't much to start with!). I'm not even sure about the dress any more.

Try sandals rather than normal shoes - you can get some with straps to help them stay on.

I have v. narrow feet and can't wear slip-ons at all.

Have a look at Clarks.

There are some online places that do narrow shoes - although styles are not all great.
Try James Inglis
Medissa shoes
Also - Duo do width fit shoes, some with small heel.
The only narrow Clarks ones I have found are their desert boots (B) which are probably not what you are looking for.
I think someone recently mentioned Carvela and Kurt Geiger as being narrower than usual too?

Salvatore Ferragamo are narrow fitting.

You say you have narrow feet, but do you know the width fitting, because then you could find shoes that actually fit (albeit narrow shoes are not easy to find). The James Inglis website has instructions for measuring your feet (and probably other places do too), so you can check your width fitting. If you know that, for example, you are a AA in width, you might even be able to get some smart shoes in a narrow fitting? Stuart Weitzman and Cole Haan shoes come in a narrow fitting too. Otherwise maybe you could find a Mary Jane style with a heel that would stay on because of the strap.

Meant to say also that once you know your size in a particular brand you can order from shoebuy.com - a US site that has loads of narrow shoes.

Thank you so much. I've never really thought about buying shoes online, as I assumed they wouldn't fit, but these sites look great.

I'll measure myself properly and then have a proper look.
