Where should I target? I want long tops for layering, maybe some sheer ones and prints as well as t-shirts. Maybe some washable wide leg strides... I want quantity. Quality would be nice but I want to canter back up the road with a wild look in my eyes and many bags for my bucks hoping not to see any austerity neighbours (btw first clothes shop since end Oct)

No-one been shopping lately? Grin

Dukes - who were you or is it a secret?

And I would head to Dorothy Perkins, New Look, Warehouse and H&M - perhaps Zara if you've got time.

DukesOfTripHazard · 10/02/2011 20:55

Ooh traceybath thou sneerest at Zara...? Is that all the time or just right now?

So DP NL Warehoose and H&M. Well I won't have the time for Zara after all that. Got school hours basically but need to do food shop too.

Will be up seven dials way cov garden on sat with DP before the theatre.

Anyone done Urban Outfitters lately? Any good?

I was Toots for the looooooooongest time.

traceybath · 10/02/2011 20:58

I find Zara expensive for what is on the whole poor quality badly made clothes.

I think new look etc better but know I'm in the minority.

Haven't been into urban outfitters in ages - always seems a bit too cool/urban for me Smile

I am heading to h&m and warehouse tomorrow for flying visit to look at a slinky dress and some bretons.

DukesOfTripHazard · 10/02/2011 21:00

Oh that's me, cool/urban

Bon chance. I am tingling with anticipation.

cyb only shops at Hotter these days

PlumSykes · 10/02/2011 21:03

Went Urban O this week, all is BROWN.

If yr in Covent G, French Connection and Zara are opp. each other so could save them for weekend.

Agree Warehouse has lots of goodies ATM.

dinkystinky · 10/02/2011 21:06

Hiya Dukes. Check out Oasis as well as Warehouse (big Oasis around Covent Garden area). Lovely stuff in Warehouse ATM.

Brown Urban O is not good.

DukesOfTripHazard · 10/02/2011 21:29

This is what I need to know. Brown is not good so won't get excited about UO. Thanks for that PlumSykes.

Warehouse. Right. Good! Good! Good! Hello Dinky.

Love the idea of Cyb in Hotter. As flamin' if. Right the Cybster?

cyb · 10/02/2011 21:33

Aw, my second name check in a S and b thread in a week

Its like the good old days!

I would try similar places to where tracey suggested, perhaps a jigsaw/ Kew quick look too for tops? Good for basics altho a leetle on the frowsy side if your not on your guard

I was in Urban outfitters at Xmas with Dd, its VERY teenagery in there. Ther's a Mango round that way- try there?

Ooh and Gap! Always Gap. I might try there first, actually

And whats Hotter?

cyb · 10/02/2011 21:34

I might bunk orf work and come with you

DukesOfTripHazard · 10/02/2011 21:36

I'd like that! I'll be on the lookout for a S Parrish type with an M Portas cut, a boyfriend cardi and shoe boots. Or is that literally, so last year?

OP posts:
cyb · 10/02/2011 21:38

well the Portas haircuts gone in favour of a more swooshy style thanks to my BBH

DukesOfTripHazard · 10/02/2011 21:38

Hotter is where comfy shoes go to die. It's shoes for Nan's.

(It's the distant, distant future by which time we'll think it's cool. It won't be. Or maybe it will? We're generation cool, right?)

OP posts:
DukesOfTripHazard · 10/02/2011 21:39

Oh the old BBH is the new waitrose BBB, innit though?

OP posts:
DukesOfTripHazard · 10/02/2011 21:40

Right I'm jumping into my jammies with me boook.

Cyb - I'll see you in Warehouse.

Thanks for help all.

Have fun, come back and LINK to all purchases so we can OOH and ahhh

traceybath · 11/02/2011 06:36

OK I'm going to Bristol Cribbs this morning with DD in tow and have a whole 1.5 hours - apparently h&m have good breton dresses at £19.

traceybath · 11/02/2011 20:16

What did you buy then?

DukesOfTripHazard · 15/02/2011 14:18

Right.... better late than neville.

Warehouse? I should say so. Dinky, Cyb etc who guided me there, huzzah. Because I wouldn't have bothered as haven't darkened their doors since the sub-Primark-coney-island-white-trash-debacle that was last summer's offerings.

nice dress background is light grey rather than white

yumtastic but short so needs vestige under

gorge, non?

They had a couple of nice missoni style prints but the fabric was too shiny flammable looking. Got a nice pink cardy there too.

At Oasis, I got a sad sense of ennui. Not good.

At Uniqlo, I got grey skinny cargos. Lovely and comfortable. I also got three pairs of diferent bluey/purply cropped leggings to wear with that dress, linked to first.

At Mango, I got the hump. All staticky and hideous mirrors in the changing room.

At Gap, I got eleventh hour giddiness (will I be late to collect from school?) and just grabbed a scarf (aqua and smokey lilac, fantastic) A bluey grey dark cardy with pockets and a Marilyn dress in large - read vast - which I will take back or take to camp in somewhere. Plus a grey jumper with pretty tie biz at neck.

It was an ossum trip. I was so sated that I didn't make DH go shopping on Saturday. We went to the National Portrait Gallery instead

Nice threads Dukes - bet they'll look fab on. The Warehouse website is pretty good - if you think you'll do lots of shopping at Warehouse worth getting a Warehouse card as you get money off on future purchases if you spend over x amount on the card (just need to remember to pay it off on time).

DukesOfTripHazard · 15/02/2011 18:30

Oh and the peacock top colours are much more vibrant in RL.
