Not the aqua but would be interested to hear what it's like. I was missold the original one (in liquid and compact form, b*stards in Boots) and when I asked a woman at the counter in JL she said it was for older, dry skin. I suspect this may be an even more moisturising one... I bought the Teint Innocence from the JL woman and that's a lot lighter than the Vitalumiere. My current favourite, though, is Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser - has spf20 too. Would definitely recommend.

noddyholder · 10/02/2011 08:58

I might look at the laura mercier then.never tried the face stuff but have 2 lip glosses and they are far superior to my usual cheaper ones.I want moisture and a light bare look.

I wear Chanel Hydramax tinted moisturiser in the summer (and for skiing). It has spf50 and gives good coverage. It feels rich compared to many tinted moisturisers that I have tried but is very light on the skin (has to be for me, otherwise I get very spotty).

crazybutterflylady · 10/02/2011 09:00

Yep, that's what I like and LM definitely ticks both boxes. It looks like a teeny tube but lasts forever. I think I have had mine about 4 months and it's still half full. Use every day.
See if you can get them to try it on you - I like the consultants at Space NK because there's no hard sell... if you have one near you.

noddyholder · 10/02/2011 09:01

tulpe does it give a bit of coverage too?

Oh, how off putting. But obviously we would all be if we spent all day every day surrounded by make up and beauty products Hmm

frigadoon · 10/02/2011 09:26

Sorry crazy - (hope you don't mind me calling you crazy) Grin

which one was for dry old ladies?

noddyholder · 10/02/2011 09:35

thats what I should have said frigadoon but too vain!

I want to try it. I loved vitalumière and am currently hating the Teint Miracle.

I am tempted to drop it on the floor (glass bottle) to buy a new one.

jamaisjedors · 10/02/2011 09:40

Review here seems to suggest it's more for oily skin rather than dry?

SimplyTes · 10/02/2011 09:54

I've got it! Spotted it at friends house and tried it - amazing! My skin is quite clear (not spotty) but it is uneven / combination with a few red marks (broken veins) left over for pregnancy.

I loved it - it was if my skin was smooth / radiant and blotchy free BUT I only use it now and again as it did give me a few spots on cheeks (never get spots there only on chin B4 period).

It is v light - can u get a sample?

noddyholder · 10/02/2011 09:55

I might try and get a sample today when I'm in town.Am going out bare faced so that I can try the LM one Hope i don't scare anyone!

Haha frigadoon the original vitalumiere (not aqua) was for olduns :) I do use it sometimes in the winter when my face needs a drink and it feels lovely. I normally have skin you could fry an egg on, which is nice. Sounds like the aqua might be more my cup of joe.

traceybath · 10/02/2011 09:57

Oh Jam I am also hating that stupid lancome one and have loads to use up before buying more chanel.

I found Laura Mercier was very light coverage - too light for me but good if you don't need much help.

Havingkittens · 10/02/2011 10:21

I've not watched it yet but Pixiwoo have just uploaded a "Guide to Chanel Foundations" video.

jamaisjedors · 10/02/2011 10:50

@tracybath I have been know to drop bottles of foundation before... MUST put this one near the edge of the shelf or next to the toothbrushes!

I could put it on mn ffp I suppose?

tulpe · 10/02/2011 11:44

Noddy - the Hydramax gives very good coverage and it lasts well too.

Rannaldini · 10/02/2011 11:57

I'm an old gimmer with skin like a lizard and the old vitalumiere was the bizniz

i'm fecked if it is for you youthful oilies

crazybutterflylady · 10/02/2011 12:18

I don't think they have replaced it have they, hopefully the aqua is merely an addition?!

Rannaldini · 10/02/2011 13:02

nope
vitalumiere cream was discontinued before christmas

miche8 · 10/02/2011 13:02

I tried the chanel aqua in store, its quite a matt foundation, i was expecting a light tinted moisturiser that would give a glow, i even said to the lady what i was looking for and she still covered me in the aqua....had to nip across to clinique where they took it all off and i tired the almost makeup liquid one, just waiting for bonus time.

moragbellingham · 10/02/2011 14:28

I found it fairly mattifying too, so that it looked dry on me.
Not at all like the vitalumiere and not an improvement, just something with a completely different composition.

I'll stick to my BB moisture balm.
