Please help me find the right underwear for under my wedding dress!

Hello, I dont often post but I do often read the great advice in this section.

Please can you help re my wedding underwear?

My dress is a v neck with straps, but with a low cowl back, I could get away with no bra at all as Im 34B. But I would prefer some thing to boost my cleavage a bit!

I have had problems with those backless bra converters which wrap round your waist, I got really bad indigestion from it pressing on my stomach. I also get this with some strapless bras. (Does any one else get this? Am I just weird?)

I would prefer it to have straps.

I was thinking of a low back body, I was looking online at the Ultimo ones, but the reviews I have seen are not great. Has any one tried them?

TIA for your help!

I've used one of these before (although not this particular one). They're pretty good.

LaurenLaverne · 09/02/2011 14:00

Thanks Toby, did it stay stuck on ok? As its not too expensive I might buy it and give it some trial runs!

I understand what you're saying about wanting to boost your cleavage but personally I would (and did) go braless - it's a long day and the last thing you need is to be uncomfortable or worrying about your underwear being on display.

TobyLerone · 09/02/2011 14:19

I bought a cheaper one and it stayed stuck on absolutely fine. Wore it all night to a hot, sweaty nightclub. So I can only imagine that the M+S one would be better. And yeah, it would be a great idea to try it out first :)

I had my first experience of a Bravissimo shop the other week and was highly impressed. Could you take a pic of the dress along and see if they have any good ideas?

TobyLerone · 09/02/2011 14:43

Isn't Bravissimo just for D+ cups?

LaurenLaverne · 09/02/2011 14:57

Shirl - I get what you mean about not being uncomfortable, I have been very uncomfortable in some strapless bras, it really put a damper on my evening!

I think I will try out the stick on one up-thread, but in the end if it didnt work out, I could go without.

Hopefully I will look so fab(!) that no-one would notice a lack of cleavege.

The Dress is 11129 from http:www.ellisbridal.com if any one wants a look.

Thanks but they don't seem to all be numbered. Gave up and googled <a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=photo.storeofdress.net/ELI/BR/11129/11129-2.jpg&imgrefurl=shop.storeofdress.net/product.php%3Fproductid%3D46254%26js%3Dn&usg=__9mL_oAZfyjHfp9Kqt8wsJrJMDNg=&h=639&w=484&sz=38&hl=en&start=21&zoom=1&tbnid=AQzCeENfrCktAM:&tbnh=137&tbnw=104&ei=SMFSTd7cC8iKhQfH-unhCA&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dellis%2Bbridal%2B11129%2Bback%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DX%26tbs%3Disch:1%26prmd%3Divns&itbs=1" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">here

It's not that low in the pics but one of these might do it. A strapless does need to be fairly tight firm to do it's job. Straps would probably show at the sides... If in doubt, go for a proper fitting first.

florenceuk · 09/02/2011 16:40

I am a 32C and I could not go braless all day - I'd be aching by the end of the day! Not to mention that without a bra they look rather spaniel like.

The numbers show up if you hover the mouse pointer over the picture, marriednotdead

LaurenLaverne · 09/02/2011 17:45

Thanks Married, I will have a look at those.
The web site is a little bit too poncy for its own good! It took me a while to work it out.

Thanks TL, as you can see I'm better with bras than mouse pointers Blush

LaurenLaverne · 13/02/2011 16:57

Right I got the M&S stick on one and took it for a test run!
It was comfortable and did the trick on my cleavage but it started to lose its sticking power after about seven hours. I was dancing in a sweaty night club for the last three of them though! I reckon it would have lasted a lot longer if I hadnt had got so sweaty Blush
