Trousers for big hips/bum and small waist (size 16/18)

I'm currently a 16/18 and am losing my DD baby weight slowly but surely. I have real issues finding trousers that fit at the moment so am living in one pair of jeans which is miserably dull and a pain when I need to wash them overnight to have something to wear next day!

I'm probably a 16 waist, 18 hips with a big bum. Most trousers I try usually fit on the hips/bum but then have a baggy waist and are saggy behind my bum.

Any top tips on where to buy trousers?

Try Levi 629. These fit me and I have a small waist too.

Obviously I have no idea what your personal style is but if you like wide legged trousers these work very well on those with a high waist to hip ratio as vintage figures were more curvy and these are made to an original vintage pattern.

M&S - they do a few nice pairs if you really scour the bigger braches
H&M
French Connection
Sainsburys

When I had just had my baby and was 16/18 I lived in good quality wide legged jersey trousers-now the weather is not QUITE so wintry you could wear with ballet pumps or converse on not such sunny days!

they had a wide band around the middle and I would wear them more on hips

the sizing at FC is very generous, so the 16 would fit i'm sure. i have some size 14 jeans from there and my arse hasn;t been a true size 14 since i was at school.

Those French connection trousers look great - must check them out as I haven't shopped there in years.

I quite like the look of that website havingkittens so thank you - I'm very hourglass and keep thinking I should just buy 40s/50s style stuff as big skirts and tiny waists suit me really well.

There's a thread further down the page, I think it's entitled something to do with "Rockabilly Types" where I've posted a load of other links to retro style clothing companies. A lot of the stuff looks fab on hourglass figures.
