Sorry not sure where to put this,

I have quite bad stretch marks on my arms, it happened when I had my DC painful swelling/retension of the arms has left me looking like a road map to britain.

Its very limiting on what I can wear, I wear boleros, even in very hot weather and I just wanna not be worried IYKWIM , I've never met anybody in a similar sit, has anybody been through this, when did it feel okat to wear normal things and not be scared??

I have slight bingo wings. Not terrible (certainly far smaller than some women I see) but enough for me to worry about.

They also have rough skin at the top which no amount of exfoliating and moisturising seems to change.

I've worn 'normal' clothes in summer sometimes (after scrutiny in the mirror and boring my partner senseless asking if my arms are fat) but once I'm outside I'll end up feeling self concious, think everyone is looking at me and keep checking my reflection in shop windows.

It's not worth it!

I collect 3/4 sleeve length cardigans. Next always have nice ones in summer. I wear them with summer dresses. I love kaftanny type tops and have several in see throughish fabric and wear vest tops under it.

I imagine your arms look lovely but if you're going to be feeling self concious about them it'll ruin your day and you may as well cover them up.

Loads of t shirts/tops available with elbow length sleeves. Just seek out the ones in very light fabric for summer. I hate my upper arms and feel so much better in these.

3/4 length t-shirts are excellent. Tesco has LOADS at the moment on a 2 for £8 offer.

Have you tried that bio-oil stuff that everyone raves about?

lospollos · 09/02/2011 11:17

Moongirl- yeah I do that, you're right it helps but I wanna be daring lol

tyzer- yeah it works a 'little bit' not a miracle cure tbh

I use Soap & Glory Flake Away and it's the only thing that has ever got rid of the bumps on the top of my arms. Their Firminator is ever so good for firming too, but really I have to do reverse push-ups using the sofa if I want to firm them up. I also disguise them (a bit) using fake tan - bit of bronze makes us all look better IMO. Have a try at all that maybe?

lospollos · 09/02/2011 14:50

3times- ill try the tanning, I heard they emphasis it tho, some lied to me Envy

Fake tan is a magician!

barbieisaskinnybitch · 24/02/2011 12:52

Vita Liberata Silken Chocolte fake tan is the absolute best - subtle (not WAG stylee) and has no smell.

Clure · 24/02/2011 13:05

what about using a type of body make-up/concealer? Dermablend type of thing?

here it is

I read about it on this blog and love it so much! Use a teeny bit with self tan mitt & I look like I've spent the afternoon in the garden, not orangey at all.

Highly recommend!

barbieisaskinnybitch · 24/02/2011 14:43
