do these shoes go with this dress??

I think I know the answer, unfortunately, but I thought I'd ask anyway.

I bought these shoes to go with a dress for a wedding

www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B002PY77DC/ref=asc_df_B002PY77DC1981868/?tag=googlecouk06-21&creative=22110&creativeASIN=B002PY77DC&linkCode=asn

but I have since found this dress which I prefer

www.houseoffraser.co.uk/MaxMara+Studio+Confetti+print+twist+front+dress/146053327,default,pd.html

The things is the shoes are really comfy and as I don't normally do high heels, I'd like to wear them. But, the colour is all wrong isn't it??

TIA

2nd link doesn't work?

mckenzie · 08/02/2011 15:36

oh, it does for me Kirsty. What does that mean then? I'll try to find the dress on another website.

Oooh, it does now!! Said URL not found last time?

Anyway, let's have a look.....

Actually I think it looks fine? Obviously it depends on the colours being the same in the flesh as on my laptop, but it looks like the beige-colour in the dress is similar to the shoes?

I say go for it - if they are comfy then it's worth it!

PS - love the dress!!

propercrimbo · 08/02/2011 15:40

hmmmm, no not really, lovely shoes and lovely dress though just not together

propercrimbo · 08/02/2011 15:41

Oh... am I seeing the colours wrong then? I see black red and grey?

FluffyMummy123 · 08/02/2011 15:42

i like

Sanesometimes1 · 08/02/2011 15:43

Had a look as well - lovely dress and fab shoes I think they will be fine together, same as Kirsty I see beige in the dress too !

voiceofnoreason · 08/02/2011 15:43

Oh i dunno - the shoes look like they will go with most things. Depends on your skin tone - it might be in danger of washing you out.

SerenaJoy · 08/02/2011 15:43

The shoes the model is wearing with the dress are a very similar colour to the shoes you've linked to (which I love by the way!).

I'd say they go ok...

AintMissBeehiving · 08/02/2011 15:45

Shoes/dress combo fine

ivykaty44 · 08/02/2011 15:48

the shoes are the right colour for the dress

have a lovely day Grin

mckenzie · 08/02/2011 16:03

okay, my fault! the shoes in the link are the right shoes, but the wrong colour. Please try this one.. So sorry.

OK so black sandals. I reckon black goes with most things but a lighter colour would probably be better. Have you worn them yet? Could you exchange them for a different colour?

If not, and you really feel comfy in them, I expect it would be OK.

Maybe get a clutch bag with both the dress colours and black too, so it pulls the 2 together and looks intentionally co-ordinated?

monkeysmama · 08/02/2011 16:14

Can you not swap the black shoes for the nude ones? They'd go perfectly.

FellatioNelson · 08/02/2011 16:20

Gorgeous dress (want it) and yes, for me they do go together very well.

noddyholder · 08/02/2011 16:29

The dress is so lovely i would look awful in it Am Envy of wearing it!

FellatioNelson · 08/02/2011 16:33

Oh I see. Whole new ball-game. No, you need to nude coloured ones. Grin

FellatioNelson · 08/02/2011 16:33

the nude coloured ones.

SerenaJoy · 08/02/2011 16:35

Ah, I see - I'd go for the nude shoes if that's an option.

(But then I thought the other ones were navy so maybe I'm not qualified to comment!)

mckenzie · 08/02/2011 16:51

the shoes I have are navy but I will try and change them for the nude ones. Fingers crossed they have them.

BlardyKnackered · 08/02/2011 16:53

To me the nude shoes work, and I am terribly picky about clashing colours and styles.

[envy because I wish i could wear a dress like that... you caaaah!]

monkeysmama · 08/02/2011 16:54

If not and you're going for a heel that high look at asos sale heels. They have a lovely nude pair that look like House of Harlow ones. They're may've described as two tone. Can't link right now but they're less than forty quid.

BlardyKnackered · 08/02/2011 16:56

Actually- what Kirsty says, about if you wear the black then have a black clutch bag. That would work I think.... and not too matchy matchy so would be tres stylish. :)

(says she, looking down at her dirty jodhpurs and ...ugh... uggs)

mckenzie · 08/02/2011 18:25

thank you everybody for your replies. Much appreciated.
I will try the dress tomorrow for DH with the navy shoes and a navy bag and see what he thinks (for a man, he's got quite good judgement when it come to clothes!)

heck monkeysmama, they have some seriously gorgeous shoes on that Asos site! What's delivery/returns like? I'm very concerned about that with shoes because they all come up so different you really don't know if they will fit until you try.
