How do i get a pair of suede shoes dyed?

i have a very expensive pair of Italian suede shoes but they are in a very impractical colour and i know i won't wear them much (probably worn them 5 times in the last few years!!).

However, if i could get them dyed black or navy then thats a different story! BUT where do i go (on the high street) to get this done?

I've not a clue where to start (apart from googling obviously) so wonder if you have some tips you would share??

TIA

I think you can buy dye to DIY. Whether you would want to is another matter!
I used to have a pair of black suede shoes that faded a bit and I recall buying some black dye and restoring them - this was many years ago though.

thanks for your post beamur.
these are a dark orange colour (to dye black or navy) so really not sure i want to chance it myself.
i suppose i'm looking for a service online or on the high street that will do it for me!

Dyeing black shoes black wasn't too risky.

I had a lovely pair of Orange Suede shoes about 9 years ago and found a woman who lived in St Johns Wood, London. She Dyed my shoes black and it was done very well. Only thing is I went off them in black.

Sorry meant to say, I was going to use the following company recently, but never got around to sending shoes, so I'm not sure how good they are.

I thought any shoe repairer would offer this service? My local independant man does it. He is in Birmingham.

Monadami i discovered that website last night and was seriously considering using thenm for my suede shoes but also my wedding shoes!
Conserve it seemed a rather specialist service to offer so i didn't think of asking locally, but a good idea - will give it a go.

thanks!
