Need elegant, comfortable, neutral/ grey/ black toned shoes for new job

Please help. I have bought a selection of grey and black work dresses, a grey suit and a black suit. Am desperate to find some shoes for a smart office environment. I used to prance about in high heels but not sure I like them SO high these days. It's three years since I stepped into an office and I am nervous about getting sore feet!

I will pay for amazing shoes. But obviously if there are amazing shoes out there that aren't too expensive that would be great.

I am about 5.5 size. I am thinking mid heel?

I don't know where to go to buy!?

I love LK Bennett for work shoes but is quite pricey but they often have 20% off discount days and you can get vouchers sometimes in magazines. I have both these pairs (not in black I have the Sabira in a midnight blue and the salut in purple suede) but they aren't too high and are v comfy.

Dont laugh, but I love these , by Hush Puppies, they come in black or grey and they are hugely comfy. Or these too

Clarks sale - I wonder whether Bodrum Market, the first oe, would suit by toning with a lot of your stuff? If you don't like the open toe, how about Drum Major (hidden platform) or an ankle boot (there are some "Lazlo" in grey).

Marks also do some interesting options in the shoe-boot genre that are supposed to be both comfy and fashion forward - please excuse me though, I have to go make lunch!
