SS11 proportions

The tunic/ skinny jean or legging fashion meant, for me, reorganising my wardrobe so that I had longer tops to wear over tight, fitted bottoms. It looks as though, in SS11, there is going to be the option of a fuller bottom (long skirt, palazzo pants, kick flares etc.) and a more fitted top.

I am wondering how best to balance that out, for example what shoes are going to look right. I imagine wedges would be good. There was a thread suggesting flats recently, so, if so, what sort of flats?

And what sort of jacket would work best?

Interested in the very same thing - looking forward to answers. In particular, what type of jacket / coat works best with flares and bootcuts?

Re shoes, I just got an email from Asos suggesting "stompin" chunky heels with palazzos etc, link to here

I agree that chunky heeled sandals with fairly sturdy/ thick straps will look great with wide leg palazzo pants etc. Also, high (bit of a platform) wedges.

I think a mini belted trench sort of shape (Zara? Gap?) shape goes well over this sort of shape because it keeps the top fitted and neat, cinches in at the waist and then flares out a bit over the bottom, which mimics the shapes underneath. I'd keep it mini though - thigh-length.

Does this make sense?
