Should I return this or will they refuse me, do you think? (All Saints)

Hi all,

I've just bought a dress from All Saints, here:

www.allsaints.com/women/dresses/gregory-dress/black/wdj005-5

In fact, I bought the gray version a few days ago, in a hurry, but got home to find it was a bit loose. So I ordered the black in a size down, online, thinking if it fit better I'd return the gray and get it in a smaller size. The black fit much better (boobs not falling out!) the first time I tried it on. Wore it tonight, and the zip was still to do up but I thought it was just an odd angle. The zip was completely jammed when I came home and took it off so I wiggled it over my head and found the zip was totally stuck. The stitching between the dress and the zip backing had begun to pull away in one place, but it still wouldn't come open.

I'm really pretty sure it's a faulty zip, not that I'm too fat for the dress. But if I return it and say so, do you think they'll take any notice or do you think they'll just tell me it must be that I bought the wrong size and damaged it? Sad

I don't often return stuff and never to All Saints before, so would like to know if their returns service is any good?

*stiff, not still, even. The zip was stiff to do up.

There has been a thread recently about All Saints and their really rubbish customer service - see if you can find it. I think if you bought online, you have more rights regarding returns though.

In fact, here it is

Thanks stress. I don't remember that thread - but doesn't sound good. I'm just so fed up because given I can wiggle in and out of the dress with the zip done up, it surely can't be too small?!

I will email the online store tomorrow, I think, but glad to have advice here.

I tried to take back a dress to All Saints and they don't do a refund for "just returns" in store, returns for online is different though. However if the dress is faulty then they SHOULD refund as it isn't fit for its purpose. Have to say I'm now very wary of All saints and agree their customer service isn't brilliant. Good luck

Ah. Thanks Clure, I'll take that as a warning.
