I've bought a beautiful new dress off Ebay for a bargain, it's a bit big around the bust - anyone know of a website that's easy to follow so that I can make the alterations myself. It will cost me around £20 to have someone else do it. I have no idea really where to start. Thanks in advance.

If it has got darts under the bust, and to the side of the bust, can you increase the size of the dart, proportionally accross all darts iuswim?

thanks sloggies, i think it's worth paying someone to do it professionally. It's really beautiful 100 percent silk and was very expensive. I'll do it properly.

Ooh silk - yes, much easier to damage when you're unpicking etc. Wise move to get it done. Sounds lovely!

thanks sloggies, its lovely and expensive, but I got it from ebay at a fraction of the cost so its worth paying a bit extra. you're a star for responding. thanks. x
