Anyone bored and fancy trying to find me a dress to suit my curves?

I am a size 14, smallish bum and thighs, I have a jelly belly but small waist (below boobs) but a 36FF chest. I am definitely top heavy and hate my arms as they are pretty fat. In the past I have opted for pretty dresses with sheer sleeves to cover my arms eg.
cgi.ebay.co.uk/COCKTAIL-PURPLE-SHEER-SHIFT-DRESS-WITH-LONG-SLEEVE_W0QQitemZ370440259227QQihZ024QQcategoryZ63861QQvarZ640006524330QQcmdZViewItem

which on the day I thought looked lovely but looking at pics was the most horrendous cut for me as it hung straight down off my boobs and made me look mahoosive!

So, I was thinking prob more like a 50's style which will nip me in at the waist and flatter my curves instead of hide them. I think I will just have to accept that the arms are there and I don't need to cover them up to try to look slimmer. Unless of course someone can find a miracle dress that hides a multitude of sins.

I quite like this:

Thanks!

Thanks for your suggestions ladies.

Angrypixie - I am only 5'5'' so will team whatever I am wearing with some killer heels.

It is actually for my 30th and fancied something a little bit different, I like the dresses that have been put up but aside from the red polka dot they aren't 'out there' enough for my birthday. (But perfect for other people's parties I have planned so thank you for linking them Wink)

love these

I'm an hourglass, f cup, wide hips, tiny (in comparison) waist and VoH clothes fit me like a dream.

Yes yes to VW Anglomania. I'm a 12 with 32E norks and a wobbly tum and I adore mine (in fact, I'm wearing it as I type!). Phase Eight Janice is pretty good too.

The red one that Seven suggests would look hideous on me because it would make my norks look vast - the Janice and VW dresses have soft draping at the neckline to flatter the chest and make it seem less 'out there' ime!

I think you need to maybe think more 40s than 50s, with a skirt that just glides over the hips but is fairly close fitting, rather than the full 50s one which could maybe make you look bigger than you are.

Or look at Whistles.

If you want sleeves

Aworryingtrend · 04/02/2011 08:45

Chloe I have the black cherry print dress in your OP! I wore it to a weddign and got lots of compliments BUT I'm only a C/D cup and there wasn't a lot of room in the bust area.

Chloe55 · 04/02/2011 15:42

Thanks for all your input and thanks alot aworrytrend that's good to know but a total bugger as they are so reasonably priced. Out of interest, are they well made? I do like quite a lot of their styles but when you look at the cost I am not convinced about the quality, you know, you get what you pay for and all that.

Just re looked at my pic and thought I had pulled it from the Hell Bunny range but maybe I didn't, has anyone worn any Hell Bunny stuff? A lot of it's quite gothicky which isn't me but I do like the pinup styles they have.
