Petite clothes

I am 5 foot 1 inch, and about a size 10 (12 on a bad day - there seem to be more and more of those though). I have quite a small frame, so standard sizes are nearly awlays too long in the sleeve, body and leg, too wide on the shoulders, assume that the distance between your waist and crotch is much longer than it is etc etc.

Where can I buy clothes that don't look like they belong on a woman in her mid fifties?! I found a fantastic website called Petite Affair, but that's it. I would prefer not to buy mail order, but I would do, if the clothes were good and didn't completely swamp me in the arms, shoulders etc.

I think you are a similar size to me. I am 5ft and a size 10. It is harder to find decent fitting things when you are small and I find that different things fit from different shops.

M&S petite (online only I think) - they have the odd nice thing amongs tons of mumst stuff. This season I have bought a trench coat, a pair of black jeggings and a pair of black skinny jean trousers. I find the fit is always good - shame so much of their stuff is vile Wink

Topshop petite - good for jeans (I sometimes have to size up to a 12 though Sad), jackets, coats, tops and the odd sun dress.

Next petite - good for work trousers, linen trousers, dresses, coats, leggings, shirts etc...

Precis Petite - again can be a bit frumpy mumsy but I have had the odd dress from there

I have a friend who likes Dorothy Perkins petite but it is not really my style.

Warehouse is also good for petites - no specific range but I find their dresses fit me well and are not too long. Monsoon fusion range dresses are also good and seem a bit shorter than their regular range
