Where did the avid and wise people go?

Just wondered...

We are still on the wise and avid threads.

Could someone explain the avid and wise thread to me? I know what "wise" means and as far as I know "avid" means eager or something like that... I'm too shy to plunk myself in the middle of the thread and ask what it's all about . Thanks!

Just means enthuusiastic about clothes, shoes and accessories, but still being wise ie not getting carried away or making stupid purchases.
