beach wedding in the tropics- is this dress suitable?

I'm going to a wedding in asia which will be a beach type affair. There is no real dress code, but I know some of the grooms family will be in traditional type dress..... I've got the usual brit summer wedding dress (2 in fact- one blue chifony type thing and a body con cream dress, both which are knee legnth) but for some reason they seem unsuitable- for a start they need heels, whereas I think sandals will be more the thing.
Anyway I spotted this on ebay cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280619962403&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT
and thought it might be good. Thing is I'm only 5ft 4" and am a bit worried a maxi might swallow me (I have a cotton one which looks ok though ). It'll be hot as hell (30) plus and I have two small kids to corale so maybe linen trousers and top would be more practical?
help- what to do...

thanks tethers, think I have an anxiety about what to wear as I fear it will be beautiful and glam (lots of fashion types) and I really realy don't want to be "frumpy mum"....

Its gorgeous, no way you'll look frumpy mum .. get some lovely flat sandals to go with and it'll look great.

This is definitely much more glam than linen trousers.
