Funky wide fit trainers to wear with jeans, not running trainers

Hi, I have been suffering the very wide feet thing since DS1 was born over a year ago. I have had to live in birkenstock sandals and my old running trainers. It's getting seriously depressing because (no offence meant here at all) all of the wide fitting online retailers that I look at have very conservatively styled shoes, perhaps aimed at an older woman.
I have recently purchased Alegria Mary Jane wide fitting shoes for work, which are comfortable and supportive, but I am really struggling with casual shoes for wearing with jeans. I am too wide for clarks, and other shops i,e the shoe tailor, evans etc I don't like any of the styles. OK fussy me, but honestly I used to live in a pair of PF Flyers and they don't do wide fit!
Please can anyone sympathise with me, and suggest some funkiness? I have very flat wide feet, size 7.

I don't have wide feet-just a high instep- but I love my PF Flyers and my Alegria shoes because they're chunky and fun!

Rocketdog and blowfish are quite wide fitting. Most pumps in schuh or office are to be honest.

Even within brands it varies from shoe to shoe though so always give them a try on.

If you're looking for heels- Next's seem to be quite generously sized.

Carvela shoes (part of the Kurt Geiger range) are quite wide as well.

Just nosied your profile- you didn't happen to get your alegria shoes in the Sandalwood sale as well did you?

I've always had wide feet, and I know what you mean about the granny shoes conservative styles... I have to confess I still go for boys trainers to get something a bit more 'current' (avoiding the skull and crossbones look, obv)

Hey Bethel, I don't know where Sandalwood is? Will need to google it now! I got them from lovethoseshoes.com, and sadly not in the sale.....

Vans are a very wide fit. And comfy! I have wide size 9 feet after 4 dc and wear mens adidas trainers in a 10 fgs!

i love skate style trainers, i have a lovely pair of black DC's with pink bits :)

Sandalwood is in the West End of Glasgow- fab choice of shoes for all but they have a great Jan sale with lots of Alegria shoes and boots too

I have wide hooves too and my absolute favourites are Fitflop Supertones because they're bonkers comfy (that springy sole!) and they have amazing colourways. The fitness sole is cleverly hidden so you don't look obvious about working your butt/thighs/calves unlike hideous MBT's & the like. I lust.

sh77 good minds think alike! I like all the Fitflop range on the original base (not the slimmer base i.e.Pietras, Fiorellas. Great for wide hooves :o

just adding my vote for the fitflop trainers, I got them in Gold and I love them, although the white laces are now stained blue because I wear them in the rain.

Note they take a while to soften up so wear around the house with socks for a while so you can see if they are bothering you. Mine were just a tiny bit uncomfortable for the first few wears but are now great and getting softer with every wear. The discomfort was never enough to make me take them off and didn't cause any blisters, they just needed to soften up.
