Hair dye question, first night out in a long time.

To cut a long story short, I suffer from Agoraphobia and have been invited to a party tonight which BF will accompany me to for moral support. Anyway, I want to feel good about the way I look (for once) to make it an easier experience.
I want to dye my hair blue/black this afternoon (haven't dyed it in 9 months due to pregnancy) is it silly to do it before I go out in case of staining? Are there any tips to get hair dye off of skin?

Thanks in advance.

I really wouldnt do it before a big night just in case! I always do mine at least 3 days before so in case of disaster it can be rescued(and I have had a few!). Have heard on here though that milk is good for removing staining?. What colour are you now?.

blue/black can look very intense until it's calmed down after a few shampoos. Don't know your colouring but it's quite cruel to pale winter complexions. If it's your roots you're worried about can you get one of those nice n' easy root cover kits from boots that matches the colour your hair is dyed now? Then you'll go out looking shiny and groomed, and you can think about the blue/black thing without making a rushed decision.

Have a good evening, good for you for getting out.
