I'm in need....i've tried St Tropez every day and it's too pale, gives me poor skin, and I can never see a difference?

Willing to spend up to £20-£25 for something decent which will last..

any recommends?

I have always liked Clarins Radiance-Plus. I am very pale and it gives natural, gradual build-up of colour.

I have combination skin and find a lot of self tanners for the face too rich for me resulting in break outs, but Lancome do a good one in gel form and exfoliate every 2nd day (Soap & Glory scrub your nose in it) is great for spot prone skin.

DuplicitousBitch · 24/01/2011 13:07

don't bother you will look like a tangerine

FluffyMummy123 · 24/01/2011 13:09

no

exfoliate first

Appletrees · 24/01/2011 13:11

clarins

FluffyMummy123 · 24/01/2011 13:11

i didnt rate the clarins tbh

Appletrees · 24/01/2011 13:12

maybe skin difference, i use it all every two days on top of mosturiser and look like i'm not dead (rather than orange)

For something that washes off I like Clinique (in a grey tube - cause it's a men's product) Streak Free Facial Bronzer.
Don't be put off it being for men. It's the same product they took off the market for women a few years ago, because they re-vamped the ladies product and made it more glittery.

This goes on without glitter and is similar to the Bobbi Brown sunless tanning gel.

madammecholet · 24/01/2011 13:26

I like the idea of a gel as I hate the feeling of moisturiser normally on my face, hate anything greasy. Plus I MUST start exfoliating.

I tried Clarins a few years ago, will look again...

I am olive skinned so I don't tend to look orange duplicitousbitch....

carciofi do you get breakouts with this one? I'm combination skin and not generally prone to spots, but some self tanners can bring me out in a matter of hours!

madammecholet, I have combination skin too but the Bobbi Brown gel is non-comedogenic and hasn't made me break out. It comes in light/medium and medium/dark.

madammecholet · 24/01/2011 13:58

carciofi that sounds perfect, I will order some...thanks so much!

I am quite pale so use the light/medium (and it is very subtle) but sounds like the darker shade would work for you. Hope you like it!

mathanxiety · 24/01/2011 15:50

A bronzer applied right can have a far nicer effect. However, I'm very pale and self tan stuff makes me look odd.

LoveInAColdClimate · 24/01/2011 16:15

Of all the more expensive ones I've tried, I've had the best results with a cheapie L'Oreal one - but I am very pale so if you have olive skin this may not apply to you.
