dp thinks he needs a solution for the huge amoiunt of crap he carries around with him (mobile, iriver, blackberry, wallet etc etc)... but isn't sure about having a "man bag"....

any ideas?

in France there seem to be 2 options:
a) for the over 40's - a leather clutch bag type thing that also has a shoulder strap, cut in an appropriately masculine rectangular shape. lots of older french men (such as my FIL)have these, and I like them but my dp says they;re old-fashioned

b) for the under 40's - one of those sporty/surfy shoulder bags, not v. big, so quite discreet and look ok

I've been trying to get my dp to adopt option b for a while now....haven't managed yet

Hmmmm. Sort of satchelly ones are okayish. Anything that goes over the shoulder looks a bit weird IMO.

shoulder bag
rucksack
small briefcase type thing, but less formal

or buy a super-expensive all in one phone, email, mp3 player etc.

I got my DH a Diesel messenger bag for his bday that he uses as a nappy bag. He seems to find it 'cool' enough. He's 27.

nothing wrong with a backpack/briefcase/hold-all.

little handbags for men or a no-no imo.

ahh well you see he doesn't want anything too big!

he does have phone/e-mail thing all in one! that's the blackberry. Provided by work, but totally unnecessary. Has to have his phone for work as well.
Iriver is his mp3 player that he won't leave home without! grrrrr

I shall let him read this thread though!
