Can I wear white to this wedding?

We are going to a wedding in May, it is a civil ceremony gay wedding (2 men).

I have seen a lovely dress, short grecian style but it is white. As they are not wearing wedding dresses ( as far as I know!!) do you think it is ok or should I still follow the rules of no female guests wearing white to a wedding?

I would ask them personally just in case they have chosen a cream suit or some thing like that.
Personally my DP and DS always wear all a black shirt and black jeans as they don't like suits (nor do they suit them Grin) but I always check that the happy couple but mind them wearing black.

I wouldn't do it, whether the bride is wearing white or not. In the photos, the one in white always stands out and you'll draw attention away from the bride.

Have you a link to the dress?

Agree with others - check with the couple.
I am going to wedding in May and they have asked that guests avoid teal as this is the colour that the bridal party will be wearing.
I therefore asked if they would have a problem with me wearing black but they are fine with it.
