I am a 38 year old apple shaped over-weight (size 16/18) 5ft6 gal. I tend to wear clothes I don't particularly like to diguise my lumps and bumps. Have been quite big on wrap-dress with trouser affairs!!I am going on "The Weakest Link" soon and have looked for an outfit but have now been told I can't wear black (only Anne may wear black...!)

I am keen that I dress in clothes I feel reflect my taste but am stuck in a rut. Clothes need to be bright, not too patterned, not lacy or sequined. (to do with lights/set etc) I have good cleavage and slim legs!!!!
Any help very gratefuly recieved x

Wear something that you feel comfortable in, something simple, unless you want to stand out and risk Ann picking on you :)

Last time I looked online there were some great long draped tunics/T-shirts (Warehouse, French Connection, Mint Velvet). Try a colour like teal or burgundy with a nice pair of charcoal grey trousers. Add a great pair of earrings or chunky necklace.

Have a great day, hope you do well and give Ann as good as you get if she gets nasty :)

You need to find a nice fitted dress, with one great accessory (probably a necklace).

What's your budget?

moragbellingham · 23/01/2011 09:26

Don't worry too much about the bottom half as it'll be virtually unseen or in darkness on TV.
As Bonsoir says, (an arm-covering - even if they're toned! and un-fussy) fitted dress would be great.
Do you suit scarlet, apple green or cobalt blue?

Main thing, I think is to get a good haircut just before you go.

Thanks for the tips! The budget is flexible, although they ask you to bring 3 or 4 outfilts and you'll be advised on them by the wardrobe dept. That squashes the budget a bit!!! I like the idea of a fitted dress and I quite like interesting cuts. I had been thinking a red shade, a teal or maybe green. I do look much better in v or low neck-lines. I shall have a look at Warehouse, FC and Mint Velvet (which I have never heard of)

moragbellingham - in the audition they picked on my roots so a hair-do is definitely in order!!!!

Some lovely dresses tethersend!! Thank you! I LOVE the 1st and 2nd one, though higher necked than I'd usually go for. The Cath Kidston is lovely. I liked these

this and
this

but DH thinks they are frumpy.

I'm with your DH I'm afraid Grin

I don't think you have to have a low neck just because you have larger bosoms (although thousands on here would disagree with me).
