A question about maternity clothes

Since last being pregnant, I have noticed that the fashion in maternity clothes is to wear things really tight and even to leave the bump bare. I love this style - wish it had been fashionable when I was pregnant - but I want to know this: do all pregnant women adhere to this style? I am asking because I have some maternity clothes I wish to sell at a local nearly new sale, but they are the old fashioned tent variety. Is it worth me entering these clothes for sale or will they just be laughed at/ignored?

I can only enter 100 items, so don't want to waste my allowance on things that won't sell.

There will always be people who want the more flowing styles - when I was first pg I desperately wanted a top that did up under the boobs and flowed loosely over my bump, but it wasn't fashionable then, and still isn't now.

BTW, what size? I'm pg again!

Hi! I think they would still sell well. I would have loved to feel confident enough to abare my bump and wear tight clothes but I didn't so covered up as much as possible!!

Mostly 12/14 but one or two in 16 (I always got quite big!)

Ah. Well, my tight-fitting clothes would be loose and flowing on you then!

Are you calling me big?!

Oops shut up Lonelymum, no, I have just realised, you are calling me small!

don't like the bare bump look at all, I think it looks vulgar - I always covered mine, mainly to avoid draughts, and cos it's so much more comfortable surely

I just hated walking around loooking like a tent on legs. I used to ruin good non maternity clothes by wearing them when pg. The tight look must surely make women feel less elephant like and more pregnant? But I agree, too tight would be unbearable. Actually what I liked best was putting on a big nighty at night and having nothing around my breasts and belly at all.

I had dd in December, and I wasn't going to break the bank buying a maternity winter coat that would only get a few weeks' wear, so my mum dug out a huge old serape that she had had for years. It looked wonderful on her, in the days when it was fashionable she was a size 12. On me, size 18 and 9m pregnant, I looked like a walking mountain!

I prefer close-fitting trousers with loose flowing tops, though I'm not in the least bit averse to showing my bump (can't wait for it to 'arrive' ).

WHen I was pg through the winter, I bought an outsize duffle coat in a jumble sale for 10p! and wore that.
