danefae raincoats

Hello,
I have been reading a very long thread "bum covering raincoats" which i thought was fab.

I spotted references to DANEFAE and just looking for a bit more info on them, re sizing, do they do what they are supposed to do, are they worth the money, that sort of thing.

I like the colours and quirkiness of them but i most certainly do not want a BODEN type coat, ie, rubbish.

I own a North Face Artic Parka which is fine in the baltic weather here in Ireland and a Merrell Wakefield but wanting something a little different.

But have to say am a bit seduced by the Danefae. So before i lose all sense and order one of the mid-season ones, any further info for me?

Cheers

Well, I've never heard of them but I've had a look at them and I think they're great! Get one, go on xxx

I have a Danefae winter coat (a pink Else). It is great - really waterproof (there is a membrane underneath the fabric) and a great fit. I stood on the playground for an hour or two in torrential rain and stayed completely dry. Yet it breathes and doesn't feel like a raincoat. The best thing is that I don't need to carry an umbrella any more and the same coat is perfect in dry and wet weather.

My M is true to size and can wear a sweater or two underneath. However, not a blazer or jacket, as the cut is pretty fitted. I find the A line shape lovely and practical and flattering, but if you are very short or very busty, it may not be the right coat for you.

I've been wearing mine almost every day for about 4 months, and have no complaints. One of the buttons has come off and another is loose, but no problem with the coat itself.

I'm very happy with my Danefae and am going to buy a midseason coat for spring as soon as they come up with black or white in M. A couple of friends already have it and say that it's really great.

I know quite a few with Danefae coats that they are happy with. It's actually on my shopping list for as soon as I get a job :o

They have a fb page if you're on fb where they post their latest designs etc, any offers that they have going and the occasional competition to win something. (A lot of the posts are in Danish but I have seen them reply to English posts on there).

thank you.
i have my eye on the violet mid-season coat, seeing as i have TNF and Merrell which are coats aplenty for winter but am in the market for something for those spring, early summer months.
Wink

i think i'll stick an order in tonight and will be back to report.

DonaAna, i think it was you on that original thread that alerted me to them, so thank you!
