Litchick · 19/01/2011 10:03

Am on my way to a meeting so am trying to look smart.

I have this dress which I like a lot. It suits me and is comfy. www.matchesfashion.com/fcp/product/Matches-Fashion/Dresses/a-l-c--ALC-Y-HR6157-dresses-KHAKI/39225

I am going to wear these shoes www.lkbennett.com/shoes/courts/30298TAUPE but because they cripple me, have them stashed in a bag and am in ballerina flats for the journey.

God, am nervous.

Poor traceybath.

Denim mini not mutton, though it is a bit parky out today.

That said, I'm in a skirt, too.

I'm in school uniform, I realise: Black, gathered, above-the-knee skirt; black warm tights; brown/grey, long-sleeve jersey top; caramel, 3/4 sleeve, cashmere jersey (M & S, bless 'em). Am surprisingly cosy, despite the cold. Brrr!

dottyaboutstripes · 19/01/2011 10:13

Also in denim mini. And JohnnieB cable hoodie thing. Oh dear god. Am 41. Now feeling muttonous.

tulpe · 19/01/2011 10:15

TB please rest assured denim mini not mutton......because I am wearing one today too and I am 40 now Blush

Aforementioned denim mini (Boden)
Grey opaques (Matalan)
Slate grey loose fit tee (Topshop)
Camel lambswool ribbed cardigan (charity shop bargain)
brown ballet flats (Office)
Stephen Sprouse Leopard print scarf (Louis Vuitton)

animula · 19/01/2011 10:16

exhausted nurse - I'm sure you're not boring, and women spend to much time feeling mis about weight. Think about the fact the weather's brightening, and how warm your cardi is.

Litchick - An eruption of glamour at this hour of the morning! Have a succesful meeting.

Mayornaze - just noticed the pink knee high boots. Wow! Hope the hospital isn't sweltering, and there isn't a wait.

tulpe · 19/01/2011 10:16

LOLing at all us 40-somethings pondering mutton liability aspect of denim mini but wearing them anyway :o

dottyaboutstripes · 19/01/2011 10:18

I have good legs so it would be a shame to waste them Wink

animula · 19/01/2011 10:18

I say baaaaa to the denim-mini haters, for causing such worryings.

traceybath · 19/01/2011 10:31

Ooooh tulpe - how was holiday? And thanks for sympathy and reassurance re mini - my legs are probably my best bit - and I work on the principle of distraction so look at those and ignore wobbly tummy Wink

AmazingBouncingFerret · 19/01/2011 10:56

Pair of dark blue jeans, River Island ones I think.

The brightest yellow Tshirt with cartoon children and bizarrely a cartoon sheep on it. The word HAPPYLAND across the front. Dead stylish my work clothes.

tulpe · 19/01/2011 11:54

TB - holiday was beyond fabulous. Seriously wonderful and such a beautiful and romantic place. Thanks for all help on choosing clothing - although have to admit that I spent 80% of my time in a bikini :)
