flaky itchy scalp

i have suffered from this for as long as I can remember ............. Kerastase Anti-Dandruff shampoo used to work, and no longer does now. "Strong" shampoos such as head and shoulders or T-Gel make the problem a lot worse. I have recently been trying Liz earle's shampoo (which has no nasty chemicals) and have noticed a little improvement but not much. It is definitely linked to stress (having a horrible stressful time at the moment) ........... please please can someone recommend a shampoo/treatment that might work? My itchy scalp is driving me mad, and I am fed up seeing flakes in my hair and on my clothes -sorry, so gross.

Nizoral shampoo works. YOu get it from the chemists. It didn't leave my scalp or hair too dry and I have coloured hair.

The new Kerastase one for dry ends and greasy roots is also working for me atm.

The Aussie mega range may work, they did for me, but eventually they stopped working.

Try Philip Kingsley's tonic for itchy/flaky scalp.

I love and swear by Aveda Scalp benefits. They do a shampoo and conditioner and a little spray on treatment thing if it is really bad to use now and again. I cant use anything else now, if I run out I am ok for a few days but then as soon as I start using something else it comes back. Also leaves my hair nice and soft and believe me its one curly dry mess usually! I find the salesy bit of some of the counter girls a bit annoying but you can get around that by ordering online, its a bit pricey but then some of the other specialist shampoos arent cheap. Also it smells nice and doesnt have that yucky tar smell ;)
