While trying to save my tights. He was scrambling onto my lap (unasked) and I was trying to haul him up without my tights getting laddered.

So, several handwashes later, I'm running perilously low on tights. And for some reason none of my favourite pairs have labels in them to tell me where they came from.

I need:
o black
o 30 or 40 denier
o control top
o thigh shaping
o all the help I can get

I'm a thunderthighs hourglass who likes to wear jumper dresses. What can you recommend?

This thread will be pure gold for the tights perv, if they are lurking- it's got everything Grin

lotty5 · 17/01/2011 19:22

marks and spencer opaque body slimming tights, have had for 3 months - no ladders !!

FaffTastic · 17/01/2011 19:23

Good old M&S do all of the above. I only buy tights from there. Or if you have the budget, Falke.

Monkeytoo · 17/01/2011 19:23

Spanx reversible here are good and last ages - but they are stupidly expensive in the UK. But they are two colours and really smoothing without being uncomfortable or forcing fat upwards!

Hope your cat has recovered from the shock :)

Sorry - bad link - here

PerArduaAdNauseum · 17/01/2011 19:27

Grin BoF

I've not been that impressed by M&S - maybe I'm buying the wrong size?

Am looking at Spanx now - didn't know they did tights.

Fafftastic - where do I find Falke and how budget-crashing are they?

Shock

If you look closely at the back of that Spanx model's knee - there's a fold!

Either she's wearing a size up or they're not holding much in.

Just checked website - sorry don't know how to link - Ultimate magic secret support 60 denier tights - £6.00 I have several pairs in both the black and grape.

PerArduaAdNauseum · 17/01/2011 19:56

Ooh thanks - might give them a try Smile

magic support 30 denier

These are fab and seem to tick all your requirements - they also do them in 60 denier as lotty5 mentioned

Monkeytoo · 17/01/2011 20:09

PerArduaAdNauseum - I think the wrinkle is so there's enough fabric to straighten her leg back out? Anyway, I'm pretty curvy and need a reasonable amount of holding in which they do. But I do get the price might be offputting.

MissBeehiving · 17/01/2011 21:49

I loved the tights perv GrinCan't we lure him back in with a bit of tighty nylon action.

PerArduaAdNauseum · 17/01/2011 22:07

I don't think I met the tights perv. Might there be a link?
