What's your foot routine?

I'm cursed with getting hard dry skin on my heels and big toes just a couple of days after sorting them out Angry
They used to be fine until I started work as a community care worker with no car - these feet have seen a lot of miles! Even though I'm just a STAHM at the moment they're still crap.

Sorry for odd thread, I'm just curious as to how much work you all have to do to keep your trotters feet nice?

Chiropody every 8 weeks I cannot recommend it enough.

Then file and pumice as needed. I use a Body Shop foot file. I moisturise with a Boots foot moisturiser.

But its the chiropody that keeps them ok.

I read in an article the other day that apparently you can over pumice your feet and that over-stimulates the production of hard skin - which is the bodies way of protecting itself. The article didn't then go onto say the optimum amount or regularity of pumicing so not terribly helpful but maybe if you're doing them every few days it could be too much?

A chiropodist appointment that does a bio-mechanical review of how you walk etc may help identify any issues, and maybe something as simple as a specialist insole will help.

Thanks very much all, will have a look into your suggestions.

Microplane foot file before your bath/shower! It's like the deluxe version of a ped egg and it's amazing. Soap and Glory Heel Genius foot cream after and you're sorted. I struggled with unattractive feet caused by 14 hour shifts as a nurse then I got my mum to buy me a Microplane for Christmas about six or seven years ago, and now I only need to paint my nails to be flipflop happy :) It's so easy my feet are even nice in winter! It cost about £25 but it still looks and performs like it's brand new so very much worth it and way cheaper than pedicures.

(think you can get them from hqhair)
