Just booked a personal shopper........

I've booked a personal shopper for a 2 hour wardrobe makeover at Debenhams today. Anyone else ever done this??

My wardrobe need some serious updating and I need to be shown what to wear and how to pull it all together, I'm pretty crap at all this. Any advice anyone???

Where else does personal shopping then?? New to this malarky .

lady in monsoon did it for me - but not sure it was official. i went in during a quiet period, picked someone who looked my ageish but trendier and told her what i was looking for. she was great - i tried on a load of stuff i normally would have walked past.

But, I have heard most success stories from John Lewis.

John Lewis are fab. I went to the one in Oxford Street and used a wonderful lady called Kay. I had a wedding to go to and she kitted me out. She was fun and friendly.

I had such a great time that I've booked to see her again soon to revamp my wardrobe.

There's nothing like being pampered whilst the rest of the shoppers are rushing around.

John Lewis are far better than Debenhams. Better quality/range of clothing.

Well I went..... and she was very nice! I tried on heaps of stuff and could have spent £300 if I bought everything I tried and liked. I had to narrow it down else DH would have gone mad.

I bought grey/faded black jeggins, two pairs of leggings in brown and black, a green patterened tunic type top, a lime green cardigan, a blue and cerise tunic top, a pinks vest, a little white bolero cardi and a short grey skirt.

I was so surprised that the leggins/ jeggins and tunics worked on me as I always thought I was too chunky for it. Hope DH likes it, can just see him later with a cats bum mouth . Next time might try JL although it's a hell of a hike from here to our nearest.

did you feel pressurised into buying?

I know that when I met with Kay there was no pressure and she brought in so much lovely stuff. When I finally left (with more than my weak will power would allow) she did remind me of the returns policy and said ..."just in case you get home and realise that you didn't want to spend that much or didn't need that extra dress".

Oooh I want to try that! I have 2 weddings to go to this year and would love to feel great in what I was wearing!

I went to Oxford Street. Ask for Kay. She's lovely. Mother of 4. Looks lovely but you don't mind sharing your stretch marks with her (ie she's not pencil thin and you don't feel like you are the mother iyswim)
