Gorgeous top - what to wear with?

Not really a style and beauty person so be gentle with me....

I've just got this in the sale. It is a great top, here. But what to wear with it for dps sister's 50th. Meal in nice restuarant so its the top that is important really for all the bloomin photos. I'd like to wear jeans but do they need to be really smart?

I tried on all my skirts this morning. That was depressing because some of them I couldn't get on. Winter skirts I don't really do, I have a White stuff one and a boden dark denim. Neither of them really go. I don't have smart trousers...

Help. Please.
And I'd rather not have to go shopping.

It's lovely. Good choice. I have something similar and I wear it mostly with a nice patterned tailored pencil skirt. But it would look great with smart jeans and a statement pendant necklace/earrings and strappy killer-heel sandals.

Yes, what Seven says. Dark jeans and heels would be lovely.
Love the top, btw.

We are all saying the same thing. Grin Must be true then...

Ooh lovely a consensus! Glad it's not just my slavish devotion to jeans, or my inability to see past the website photo that make it a jeans top.

Heels I can't do - back messed up years ago - but I have a nice pair of Campers with a little heel.

So I just have to get myself a good pair of jeans. Online is foolish yes?

Jeans (not smart necessarily but the shape is crucial - either skinnies or kick flare/bootcut, but not slouchy fit) are absolutely fine. Re: the necklace - either very long pendant, or short chunky choker. It needs to NOT get lost in the neck of the blouse, and it needs to make a statement. Or, ditch the necklace and go for big dangly sparkly earrings. (Don't do both - overkill.)

Shoes should be high - either strappy sandals or pointy boots.

No heels at all? Shock

DownyEmerald · 14/01/2011 22:15

Just can't do heels. Probably for this it would be ok as can't think I'll be standing much, but 'twould be a waste of money, because they'd only else be useful for a wedding where there is always a lot of standing and I'd just be in pain. Which is boring.

Didn't matter so much when I messed my back up - heels weren't so essential then!

The necklace I can do, tho' it's not quite perfect but has to be worn (dp present).

My hair hits my shoulders so should I wear it up/back to show off my stupendous collar bones (I wish!).

So skinny that will show whisper muffin top. Or kick flare that will make me feel like Bianca Jagger. Hmmmm.....
