Can't find anything that will tackle my dry, cracked lips. They look horrid.

this stuff from superdrug is ACE and only £1.27 per tin.

GoingToBeSize12 · 15/01/2011 02:41

Thick layer of Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream before you go to bed and in the morning your lips will be lovely. I swear by it.

Littlepumpkinpie · 15/01/2011 10:42

I use carmex

Stilla · 15/01/2011 10:43

another Carmex vote

SantosLHalper · 15/01/2011 13:36

Blistex to sort it out, then regular slatherings of vaseline to prevent it.

bacon · 15/01/2011 17:03

If you spend a lot of times outdoors then the skin around the lips can get really sore and burn - and that can be really painful.

I find most over the counter stuff cant touch it. I mix nappy cream with a greasy bodycream. Once sorted I can go back to the usual lip stuff.

Zondra · 15/01/2011 17:10

Blistex-the old-fashioned tube of cream not,the chapstick things.

Amazing stuff.

It's a constant staple in my make-up bag

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 15/01/2011 17:14

Slather them with vaseline and then exfoliate with a toothbrush. Wipe all that off and then use either Carmex (pot) or Blistex (either blue pot or the white metal tube).

Mrsfred · 15/01/2011 17:15

Carmex here too (in the pot, not the tube though).

mangoandlime · 15/01/2011 17:17

Old toothbrush with a bit of sugar to exfoiliate then good old Vaseline slathered on overnight. Central heating and windy weather is a killer for lips.

lucykate · 15/01/2011 17:17

another vote for chapstick medicated. i've tried lots of different ones and this works best for me, and i suffer from very dry, chapped and cracked lips.

TheMonster · 15/01/2011 17:20

Waitrose Baby Bottom Butter. Wonderful stuff.

neepsntatties · 15/01/2011 20:43

Lansinoh is doing a great job although I need something I can take out and about so I will try some of the other suggestions too. Vaseline just doesn't seem to work for me for some reason.

Flexitol lip balm is excellent.

I work outside and always have very dry lips but this stuff works really well.

sue52 · 15/01/2011 22:52

Carmex.

couldtryharder · 15/01/2011 22:56

I'm a straight vaseline girl myself. Any kind of lipstick or lip gloss and the next day I can peel bits of skin off them. Only cure is failful old vaseline.

AllThreeWays · 16/01/2011 09:14

Another vote for the Blistex ointment, awesome stuff

polyhymnia · 16/01/2011 11:37

I swear by By Terry's Baume de Rose - the 'wand' version which is really easy to apply. Has stopped my lips getting dry at all this winter. Not the cheapest option but does last ages.
