When I was shopping yesterday I saw loads of them. Hooray if they are!

Well I wear skinnies sometimes and bootcut sometimes. But I have some bootcut jeans from a few years back that are really quite flared/wide at the hem - don't think they are back in tbh.

I was only given the confidence to wear skinnies from this site - I really thought that trend was going to pass me by. And now, dare I say it, I tend to think that many bootcuts look a little mumsy.

Bunbaker · 14/01/2011 07:32

I wasn't aware that bootcuts were "out". I tend to follow styles rather than fashion.
Wearing the right style to suit your sahpe is far more flattering than being a slave to the latest fashion.

I happen to own jeans that are: bootcut, wide flares, skinny and straight leg and wear whichever ones I fancy at the time.

You do need the right cut The old bootcuts from a few yers ago are dreadfully mumsy looking but the new ones are virtually skinnies with a kick!i do think you still need skinnies for wearing inside boots and with converse etc.decisions Grin!!!!!

I'd rather look a bit mumsy than wear skinnies that showed every chubby bit of my legs. Slaves to fashion can look pretty tragic when that fashion doesn't suit their body shape.

Grin!

I definitely agree that you need to dress to suit your shape, and if I hadn't lost a bit of weight, I very much doubt i'd have been persuaded into skinnies.

I have read about 'skoot cuts' - skinny bootcuts - another one of those dreadful word-amalgamations. I guess they are these.

DuplicitousBitch · 14/01/2011 09:43

bootcut = thunderthighs, new ones look nice though.

lets face it, if you have a big arse you will still have a big arse no matter what jeans you wear.

polyhymnia · 14/01/2011 10:22

Am going to try skinny bootcuts if I can track them down in my size! My liking for straights and skinnies is not related to my weight, but to having long, slim legs and also, as others have said, putting them together with the right tunics and boots.
Don't kid myself they make my bottom disappear but do think the general shape of the outfit can be flattering.

i've been wearing bootcuts for nearly 15 years now. i did try skinny jeans a couple of years ago but i didnt like the circulation being cut off. i have very muscular legs as i walk everywhere
