Urgent help needed! Can't find anything to wear that doesn't make me look like a weeble!

Calling all apple shaped ladies! What do you wear?

I'm getting desperate now and need to buy some new clothes but nothing fits me. I tried on about 20 items over last weekend and bought none of them!

I am a size 14 on the bottom and 16 on top. I have a big chest, a little bit of a waist, thin legs, no hips to speak of and not much bum! Therefore, trousers don't stay up and if they fit round the waist they are too big on the legs and on the hips. Oh and forgot the biggish stomach!

I am basically top heavy!! I have totally run out of ideas and look hideous in everything I try on.

Would be very grateful for your top tips!

Many thanks.

Hie thee to Bravissimo! And try things on. They're about the only shop whose dresses I look good in. When they are too low-cut for me I team with a thin polo or slash-neck top underneath (uniqlo heatteach are my favourite).

I also favour v-neck tunics over leggings.

Hi Cruella - what is Bravissimo? Never heard of it.

I was wondering about leggings and have avoided them due to needing to feel balanced. Do you wear tunics that are flared from the waist for balance?

Aha! www.bravissimo.co.uk - clothes for women with big hooters, look at "clothing". They also have shops, if you can get to one I really think it's best to try stuff on, and the fitters are very good for advice. I also found when they fitted me for a bra, I looked slimmer because better supported.

Have never tried their trousers, I struggle with trousers (which is why I like leggings!) but I think my problem in that dept is different from yours - if trousers fit me on the hips they are generally too big on the waist.

Re tunics - I don't go for flared ones particularly, I'm more likely to layer up with a cardi. I quite like one bit of me looking "slim".
