I'm looking for some warm pyjamas. They need to be long sleeved, preferably in cotton with long sleeves and longish in the body so can be tucked into pyjama bottoms (hate waking up with a cold back and all untucked...brrrr!!!).

Will pay up to about £35. Don't mind motifs on the front or the colour.

Anyone get any nice ones for Xmas and if so, where from?

I got some from Tesco for christmas. They are gorgeous fabric, fit perfectly and so far, no shrinkage in the wash at all.

jeanz · 06/01/2011 17:14

Hi have you tried any from george at asda they not sooo expensive they have online shop too though i tend to order size bigger than i need

Ephiny · 06/01/2011 17:22

I have some nice Cyberjammies ones from John Lewis, soft jersey material and very cosy. The top is long-sleeved and fairly long and tunic-like on me (though I'm quite small), I don't tuck it in but you could if you wanted!

applecrumbleandcream · 06/01/2011 17:35

Thanks for all suggestions - Ephiny they sound perfect. I love soft jersey. Do you have a link - never heard of cyberjammies.

These look like the ones, slightly over your budget (didn't realise as they were an Xmas present). Think DP got mine from John Lewis but don't see them on their website now...

applecrumbleandcream · 06/01/2011 17:52

Thanks, they look lovely & just what I'm after, but yes slightly over my budget. I'll put them on my xmas list though for next year!!

So with the Hush pjs if you were a size 12 what size would you order i would be afraid the 10/12 may be too small but the 14/16 may be too large. What do you think ?

cruelladepoppins · 06/01/2011 19:15

I got a lovely pair of pjs from Monsoon for Christmas, soft flannel; gentle shade of green with small white leaf pattern. I had to exchange them for a different size and they are now in the sale! £16 now. They don't seem to be available on the website unfortunately, but if you are near a Monsoon it might be worth a look. I love them!

BornToFolk · 06/01/2011 19:23

Kindle, I'm a large size 14 and the large (i.e. 14/16) is perfect for me. I'm large of boob and thigh and find some pyjamas can be tight in these areas but the Hush ones are fine, so they are a generous cut. You'd probably be OK with the smaller size.

KindleTheSky · 06/01/2011 19:28

Oooh thanks !

applecrumbleandcream · 06/01/2011 21:05

Thanks for the Monsoon suggestion Cruella, I'll have a look in there on Saturday.

I'm a 12/14 normally but I always go up a size in pyjamas (love them baggy) and hate it when they are cutting you in half down below. What's Monsoon sizing like in pj's?

I've had a couple of really nice pairs from Gap.

applecrumbleandcream · 06/01/2011 22:45

Any link Millie on the ones you're pleased with from Gap.

I am a size 12 and have size 14/16 Hush pjs. They are HUGE on me but have a drawstring waist so don't actually fall down. I was too lazy to exchange them for a smaller size, but would definitely get a 10/12 next time. I am also 6ft tall and the length is really good for me. They haven't shrunk at all in the wash, but I've only washed them on my washing machine's hand wash programme and haven't tumbled dried. They are really nice, soft cotton and very cosy.

cruelladepoppins · 07/01/2011 19:19

Hi ac&c, you asked about Monsoon sizing:
I am a 14 on top and a 12 on the bottom half, and a "Large" absolutely drowned me - "Medium" was perfect.

applecrumbleandcream · 07/01/2011 21:38

Thanks Cruella, will have a look in Monsoon whilst in town tomorrow. Will also have a look in all the other places suggested. Probably come home with about 20 pairs!! Thanks all!Smile

My mother gave me those Monsoon pyjamas for Christmas! They're lovely - very warm. I'm also a 12-14 and the medium is good.
They're a sort of eau de nil colour... am I the only person who always sees that colour as more blue than green, though? I had a nightie the same colour when I was small which my mother would always call my green nightie, while I insisted it was blue. (I didn't ask her what colour the pyjamas were).

MadameCastafiore · 07/01/2011 22:09

Got a pamphlet for Charlotte & Co through the post yesterday they had some lovely pyjamas in their sale, I had never heard of them before.

Mind you I do swear by Hush and love their long flannel nightshirts but would wait for the sale.

applecrumbleandcream · 07/01/2011 22:10

Eau de nil - is it similar to duck egg blue? Very pretty colour imo.

blowninonabreeze · 07/01/2011 22:16

I got a pair from fat face for Christmas that fit your description and am very pleased with them. Can't find my ones online, but they are similar in style (although not colour) to the Nampa Jersey ones on this page with the Riley tee.

I've washed them a few times without shrinkage (although I don't tumble dry)

animula · 07/01/2011 22:30

this came through my door the other day, and looks nice.

animula · 07/01/2011 22:31

Ah! I see MmeCastafiore is on the same mailing-list!

applecrumbleandcream · 08/01/2011 00:28

Hurray!!! I think I have found the answer to all my problems with this Wink
