I have Bearpaw boots and I think they are very good.

Monadami · 04/01/2011 17:38

I saw some in Mothercare and wondered if they might be a bit dangerous, kind of cumbersome and would children trip over the claws when coming downstairs?

Apparently they are the Canadian version of Uggs, but better! (i.e. suited to proper cold - although like uggs, they are not waterproof).

Friend has a home in the States and she came back with a couple of pairs - more popular out there than uggs too. Very comfy. HTH

They have these in tk maxx if you want to try before you buy. I tried some on to keep my friend comapny one day and they're not really my thing but I almost wanted to buy them afterwards! They were all fluffy inside and seemed a decent enough quality to me

TotorosOcarina · 04/01/2011 19:17

DON'T get the knitted ones!! :(

thisisyesterday · 04/01/2011 19:18

SummerRain · 04/01/2011 19:19

saw the cardi ones in TK Maxx today and they were very comfy. Totally unsuitable for where we live though Sad

Monadami · 04/01/2011 19:30

sorry misunderstood, thought you meant kids slippers that actually look like a bear's paw LOL!!

MrsLevinson · 05/01/2011 05:35

I bought them in brown last year from TK Maxx. They're fab, really warm and comfortable.

SixtyFootDoll · 05/01/2011 07:19

I bought myself the brown tall ones for xmas from Amazon. Tjey are so toasty and I can't any differnce to my friends Uggs apart from mine being a quarter of the price!

I have some, from TKMaxx - they are great.

mumofloads · 05/01/2011 22:11

Yes I buy a pair each winter from TK Maxx. Got black, brown and grey now. The black were the first I bought 3 years ago and they are still going strong. Very cosy as well.

mathanxiety · 05/01/2011 22:31

Lovely quality and cheaper than Uggs.

chickenlickin · 05/01/2011 22:43

i would like sum choc ones but do they do long tall choc ones in the bear ones ?

HollyBollyBooBoo · 06/01/2011 02:58

Brilliant, my sis and I have got through pairs of them over the years. Really comfy and the heel doesn't break down like Uggs. Sizing is a bit odd though, I take a size 6 sometimes 6.5 in high street shoes, but have to get a 8 in Bearpaw.

Got mine from amazon were £79.99 reduced to £32 still on there but not sure how many left or what size. They are very similar to UGGS and very well made.

YorkshireCrockpot · 06/01/2011 10:28

Love mine, refuse to pay over £ 100 for uggs! Worn them nonstop for 3 winters but now the soles gone so they've been demoted to slippers

Changebagsandgladrags · 07/01/2011 22:51

I think mine are walking here. They were dispatched on Tuesday.

DD1 has bearpaws from TK Maxx. Hers have not worn well - both have split along the seam in less than a year. They are lovely soft and toasty though, and because of the price, would buy again. Although she really hankers after a pair of real Uggs.
