Came across this on a thread from another mumsnetter. Have looked reviews up and sounds wonderful, particularily for me as I have very coarse dry hair.

Has anyone else used it and if so would you recommend it? Also, if anyone has bought it where did you buy it from? I can get it off ebay and amazon but just want to make sure I am getting the real thing.

Thanks.

I have a feeling my hairdresser used some on my hair the other day, hair looked fab but it was nearly £40 a bottle. Am tempted to go back and get some as i did my hair this morning and its not as good as the salon.

Milkybrew · 02/01/2011 21:26

Definitely recommend it! It is pricey but you need literally a 5 pence coin amount each time so lasts for ages! It really helps to make hair more manageable and protects it. Especially if like me you heat style your hair!

nancy75 · 02/01/2011 21:27

i want some of this, where do you buy it?

colie · 02/01/2011 23:18

Nannyj- will you buy it from your hairdresser?

I just don't want to pay £40 for it, from the internet, and discover it is not the real thing.

Could anyone suggest where I buy it from?

Thanks.

Just buy pure Argan oil instead. Argan oil is the main component of Moroccan oil but without all the synthetic additional ingredients.

Think you can buy it from most health food shops, Holland & Barrett, not sure about Boots (would be in haircare section if anywhere).

Also fab as a body moisturiser as it has high Vitamin E content, Liz Earle and Aveda have been using it in their products for years because of this.

otchayaniye · 03/01/2011 09:13

Is this argan oil? I picked up a few bottles in Marrakech (you have to make sure it's pure there) and you can get it easily in French chemists.

It's just a nice, small molecule oil for hair and skin. Could substitute jojoba or avocado.

otchayaniye · 03/01/2011 09:14

The best oil IMO is seabuckthorn. But I think you have to track that down online and it's hard.

Tillyscoutsmum · 03/01/2011 09:17

I order my Moroccan Oil stuff from this website

Might give Argan oil a go though ..

madammecholet · 03/01/2011 10:32

I just bought 100ml through Glamoo vouchers for £18..but theyv'e gone now, just checked ..:(

I also buy through ebay...normal RRP around £28..

Its miracle stuff, love it, used it for over a year, and only purchased 2 bottles in that time, so lasts forever..x

I too have coarse, dry, curly hair and haven't found Moroccan Oil to be that great really. It adds shine but doesn't do much to calm the frizz. I bought it at my hairdresser for £30.

colie · 03/01/2011 21:30

Thanks ladies.

Not sure what to do now. I will probably buy it from the website tillyscoutmum recommended. If rubbish on my hair I have 3 daughters who I can use it on.

I treated myself to a bottle of Moroccan Oil for Christmas and so far I'm really thrilled with the results.

It's made my thick and dull brunette hair sleek and glossy - in fact the best it's looked and felt in years and I've had compliments on how thick and healthy it now looks.

I've also switched to Redkin shampoo and conditioner, which has probably helped too.

I bought mine from www.theshinyhairshop.co.uk for £30, but I received a fee £10 tangleteezer brush, which is fabulous on my daughter's unruly hair.

Oh, I should have also mentioned that I love the the smell. Perhaps not to everones' taste, but I think is smells wonderfully warm and exotic.

Hello!
Naetura do an organic Argan and apricot kernal oil for face/body use which is wonderful, pure Argan oil can cause blackheads/blocked pores if your skin is prone to this initially, so in this case, best to use a blend!

Argan oil is only sourced from Morocco so is q expensive, but I think, worth it!

valiumredhead · 05/01/2011 09:25

I use Argan oil and it is WONDERFUL stuff! My hairdresser uses it and I got a bottle form Amazon. It was about a tenner for a 30ml bottle but you need such a tiny amount it lasts ages. It has transformed my hair and can now go out in the rain without ending up looking like Crystal tips Grin
