How do you cut/ style your little girls hair?

DD is 3.5 and very badly needs a haircut.

She has straight, blonde hair with a side parting down to her shoulder blades atm, which can curl very slightly at the ends, but this only really happens if we get caught in the rain/it gets wet.

She likes her hair off her face so a fringe is a no no,so I normally just pull it off to the side with a ribbon.

Previously she has just had a blunt cut at just above her shoulders, but I was wondering if there was something better?

DD (4) has a blunt cut with a fringe. She hates having it brushed and hates me pinning it off her face (hence the fringe) so I've gone for something practical.

This time last year she had the most fabulous short bob, tapered into the neck. However, this was because she gave herself a mullet shortly before Christmas and had to have a rescue cut. It looked way too grown up on her but did look fabulous :)

I take her to the same hairdresser's I go to (although she doesn't have a top stylist!)

DD (3.1) has a chin length bob with some light layering over the bottom couple of inches. Her hair is also straight with a bit of an unpredictable curl at the end sometimes. The layering means it always falls nicely, even when the ends decide to be unruly.

I cut it myself, but it can be quite stressful so I'd recommend a hairdresser if you can afford it. A bob is a tricky cut to get it perfect, it takes practice.

I am definitely not going to cut it myself, it could be horrific Shock!!

She has an appointment booked for Wednesday, I am just interested if there is anything genius I haven't thought of/ seen yet. All the other girls we know around her age wear their hair in the same way as her.

Soupy could have written my post. Dds mullet was not only delightful but wonky.

She looks the best she has ever done and actually looks pretty ( I know I shouldnt say that but...)

Soupdragon your DD is gorgeous :) DD1's hair is very similar to yours at the ends, her's is a bit longer though.

Thanks Bambi :) That photo was, clearly, pre mullet :o (and it had curled up beautifully in the humidity on holiday. [sigh] It doesn't do that any more)

DD1 has the same curling with water/ humidity.

Mine was like that when I was little but once my hair got thicker and heavier it stopped. I'm sure she'll hate it when she's older, but its so cute. :)
