Need smart work wear

Will be starting a new job in Feb and really need to upgrade my wardrobe as this is several rungs up the ladder to where I have been previously.

'City' job so needs to be smart and tailored.

I'm a size 14 / 16, like dresses with matching smart jackets but can't show my arms. No low necks as I look like a buxom barmaid, length needs to be below the knee.

Or smart suits. Basically need to look very polished and smart (not used to this at all as have been at home for a while!) and no idea where to start.

Budget not an issue - would rather buy a few expensive pieces that will last and add to them.

Thanks for any help you can give.

If budget really not an issue, get this

Joseph does very good suits that last and last - some Jigsaw ones are nice and classic (if you avoid the frumpier cuts). Both often do dresses with matching jackets.
PS you've done well to get a big jump up the ladder after being at home - congratulations!

I tried on the Tina and Alexa dresses in lk Bennett yesterday (back to work following ML on Tuesday ....). They were both absolutely stunning and would've loved both but sadly I am a size 11 so 10 was tight and 12 too big and because they are so well cut if they don't fit well it is very noticeable. Anyway enough rambling - get down to lk Bennett!!

tethersend she'd look like an airhostess in that, doors to manual Grin

Thanks for the tips. Off to try dresses on on Monday.
