Not trendy up to the minute fashionable ones but ones that will look ok this time next year.

and not cost the earth, i have a beech kitchen with lilac and mint green wallpaper so i would like something to go, not necessarily those colours.

I am hopeless at interior colours,fabrics etc and have no sense of style whatsoever, please can someone help me out?

i bought mine in argos were £18 have now had them for 5 years and they are really nice you can get some nice ones in woolworths too

I would tend to choose something fairly plain.

White is always good as you can add to it and dont have to worry about matching up.

We have a fairly expensive dinner service that is white with a platinum edge, but instead of buying every item from that range I just add to it when I see something else in white that I like.

If I were you I'd have a good look round debenhams, or somewhere where that has a decent amount of choice, and I bet you will find something that you like.

Not sure if it is the right shade but Denby Regency Green is a classic. They also have a lovely Linen range which is a subtle neutral and Flavours in pastels but think this is shortly to be discontinued so would get harder to add to. Denby site here and available in most department stores such as Debenhams, House of Fraser and John Lewis.
