Hairspray- works a treat.

Or WD40.

I know that nail varnish works but it can also lighten the leather so need to be really careful - baby wipes tend to get everything off everything - christ knows what they contain, I always use them to get gloss off my hands when painting, only thing that works! Blush

boogeek · 29/12/2010 23:15

yup def hairspray, babywipes can crack the leather x

hatcam · 30/12/2010 17:01

Or alcohol, test first but I used it to get biro off the new kitchen cupboards, my new shoes and a kitchen chair. Let's just say I was a bit distracted that day!

Something with really high alcohol content, White rum, gin or vodka. Or perfume.

Good luck

Would be interested to know what worked for you in the end? I have biro on a tan leather jacket that i bought and did not realise it was on there. i don't want to take the colour out of the leather as its been there for few weeks. thanks!

madammecholet · 30/12/2010 18:49

Hairspray definetly works. Take a small cotton bud and slightly dampen with hairspray. Work very slowly at the stain, be careful only to go along the line of the stain, dabbing the area until the ink has dissolved into the cotton wool.

Do not use babywipes, as it may take the colour with it.

Use a good leather cleaner afterwards to bring back the shine to the leather.

Xmas Wink
