can i put a semi perm colour on highlights

until i can afford to get the roots done again? have awful roots atm

what colour are you putting on.

beware anything with a red tint on blonde.

something more like my normal colour light brown, haven't looked in shops yet.

yes you can and yes it will.

get a v light semi that fades out and you should be fine.

Could you get a colour and just do your roots?

the roots would have to be bleached as my hightlights are, they look dead brassy now too so was just thinking of whacking on all over semi just to get throught couple of months

got some and am whacking it on now. going to shock me i think! any other tips before i go ahread

That's cos the dye will completely cover all your highlights - for good! Ah well, if it looks nice... Whatever!!!

If it is a semi then eventually some of your highlights will show through in a few weeks. If it is too dark wash it with some head and shoulders, that will strip out some colour.

I had highlights which I didn't like and dyed over them
With a semi and it looks fine but doesn't take long for the highlights to come though again.. 2 weeks maybe.

IME, the semi will permanently cover highlights.

oh well i will find out, i really do like the colour alot atm anyway!
