Anyone gone the whole year without spending on clothes?

Does anyone remember a thread earlier in the year where people planned on not spending on clothes for a whole year? Did anyone manage this? Is anyone thinking about doing this for 2011?

It was penthilsea [sp] who started that thread and out of it grew the avid and wise threads Grin

So no I certainly didn't - not sure if anyone else did?

Are you going to do it next year? If so good luck Smile

I like the idea of this.

I hate being a materialistic capitalist.

Do charity shop/car boot purchases count?

Are we allowed to buy clothes for dcs still? My 14 yr old is growing before my very eyes and we'll never make it through to Easter without him bursting out of his pants (oh err, missus).

Giving this a bump because I think doing this will make me a better person (????)

I didn't manage it/sign up for it, but I was extremely frugal this year. Didn't buy a single item of summer clothing, just made do with last year's stuff. Bought a coat and boots in October, and that's been about it.

I would love to have a good splurge right about now, though, but am skint
