Cannot recommend muddy puddles highly enough. They are really robust (particularly important for a three year old!) and waterproof. My kids live in them (Scottish Highlands) and have done since they were tiny. I will never buy another make.

All outdoors shops (millets etc) start their rainwear at 3/4 years, but the Kag in a Bag stuff that I was looking at were expensive. However, I guess they really would keep serious wet out.

Ds's are Muddy puddles ones and they are fantastic quality.

h and m occasionally have the rubberised dungarees - cheaper than Muddy Puddles et al. Need soem for dd to have at school.

Got the Little Miss Puddles pink trousers and long coat.
