Anyone else not feel right in colour?

Most of my wardrobe is black, grey, white and khaki...i do own some coloured and pattern tops but when ever i put them on i just dont feel right. I do love a stripy blue and white top but thats as exciting as it gets.

My colouring should suit jewel colours which i do own but they dont look right, my partner moans about the black but isnt sure when i wear colour.

Did have a session with a personal shopper at debenhams a few years ago and i ended up buying patterns and colour but never wore - actually the clothing was quite frumpy.

I'd stick to what you feel most comfortable in, and I do love those neutral type colours. Like you, I've got the sort of colouring that should suit jewel colours, but they never look right (too harsh or something). I stick to grey, indigo, white, with the odd pattern dress or dark pink/red cardi to brighten things up if I feel the need.

I dont wear that much colour- i get bored with coloured clothes tbh

I wear lots of navy, grey and black
I have a fab orange dress that I wore for my 40th, would def wear that colour again

And bought a mustard top the other day which frankly made me feel billious

I am the opposite - I can't not wear colour! Feel so drab otherwise.

Colour cheers me up....don't think I wear enough. Slowly trying to inject more colour into my wardrobe :)

I do colour but not pattern

except perhaps a striped top in summer

Meggles76 · 24/12/2010 21:40

I find colour difficult too. 90% of my wardrobe is grey, black, navy, cream, beige... TBH, I have stopped buying 'brights' because I never wear them! Like you, I love a navy stripe top... I occasionally wear a muted purple tunic dress that I got from Joules - but I always tone it down with black tights and cardi!

I do do small patterns though - not large ones as they drown me

I prefer neutral greys/blues and black as well , most colourful thing I regularly wear is teal cardigan.

I wear grey, navy, black and camel. Not together! I have a new red blouse I love and a green dress from Reiss but that's it. I feel uncomfortable in colour really though am a little brighter in the summer when some lighter blues creep in.

monkeysmama · 24/12/2010 21:52

Oh and animal print Grin. Usually in muted greys but right now I'm in a leopard print silk blouse and leopard print Louboutin style loafers (with black leather trousers Grin)

Me too...black, gray, white, cream, navy... the only color I wear consistantly is teal or turquoise. I have one dark purple top.

Most of my clothes are neutrals (navy, grey, beige although not black) but I do try to add a splash of colour with either shoes or scarves or tights so i don't look too drab.
