Too late, I have my Haven already, but it's been worth every additional penny over the last two months!

GeorgeFormbyGrill · 22/12/2010 19:24

Oh glad to hear that Lilac, I've wanted one for ages but couldn't afford full price. Want the Wakefield as wee but this weather demands the Haven I think.

What do you think size wise? Ordered an XL, am a size 14-16 (erring on the 16 side atm but intending to revert to 14 post xmas!) and have e-mailed them asking to change to a L. Have totally baffled myself with it as most sizing info on MN is about the Wakefield which seems a slimmer fit.

Glad to be useful Thrones!

Nice bargin there for anyone that still wants one. I love my Haven its keeping me so warm on dog walks. I have brought DH the Merrell Mammoth for christmas although he has already worn it for dog walking.

lilacbauble · 23/12/2010 08:28

I'm size 10 and bought a small, it fits fine around the top (I wear a 36 bra but have no bust to speak of) and it's loose around the hips but not horribly so.

GeorgeFormbyGrill · 23/12/2010 14:20

My Haven arrived today already!! Very impressed, love it but it's massive-they wouldn't let me alter the order, it'd obviously already been despatched. So I have now ordered the L and will return the XL. So toasty warm! Hope the new one arrives asap too.Really feels like a wool coat.

I'm impressed by the speed of delivery, sounds like the Large should fit me ok then. Hope refunding the XL goes ok too!! If I could afford it I'd get the Wakefield too.

I ordered one at about 7pm last night and it has just arrived. Amazing! And thanks to GeorgeFormbyGrill for the heads-up Xmas Smile

GeorgeFormbyGrill · 24/12/2010 11:55

My Large just arrived! The courier is superb! No probs Wordgirl, too good a bargain to miss I reckon.

Huge difference in size between the XL and the L and this one is just great, looks nice and fitted and smart even DH is impressed that it is going to keep me warm and dry and not look like a hulk in a ski jacket!! I love it and Field & Trek are ace Xmas Grin

My Wakefield arrived today, ordered it yesterday. It's lovely, fits perfectly. I have v long arms and struggle to find coats with long enough sleeves without going up at least 2 sizes. No such worries with my wakefield! lovely long sleeves!

MegBusset · 24/12/2010 23:03

Ooh am going to treat myself I think but which is best for freezing Norfolk winter??

Habbibu · 24/12/2010 23:07

My Haven has kept me toasty sledging on Cairngorm, dragging dcs around in blizzards on sledges, wandering round Aviemore in temps of -8. Have never had such a good winter coat.

Habbibu · 24/12/2010 23:08

I have a Wakefield too, and it's great, but it's definitely a raincoat, rather than a warm coat.

MegBusset · 24/12/2010 23:47

I went for the Haven, cheers :)

carrielou2007 · 25/12/2010 22:25

I have a wakefield and a ava, ava has been fabbi in the snow, don't even need a jumper under it is so warm. Just ordered another wakefield as size wise my purple wakefield is massive. I bought a large (was still size 14 then) as had not long had ds but am almost a 10 so it looks daft now. Prefer the purple to the black but at that price I don't care!!!!

GeorgeFormbyGrill · 26/12/2010 16:33

I am loving the Haven, never been so happy to buy anything practical before!

thank you George, I have got mine today in F&T. Scrummy warm.

gibba8 · 30/12/2010 19:20

Go Outdoors is beating Field and Treks price by 10% for the Wakefield - thats £76 - a great price. I have the plum Wakefield and love it - all ready for spring now!

wigwam1973 · 06/01/2011 19:54

Another thank you to George. I wore my Haven for the school run today in miserable rain, and it coped wonderfully. Have been complimented on it more than once. Really glad I got it.

MegBusset · 07/01/2011 16:10

Chuh. My Haven got a school-run drenching today and two soggy elbows tell me it's NOT fully wateeproof :(

FiveOrangePips · 07/01/2011 16:38

It should be Meg, mine is half way through a 2nd winter of almost constant wear in all kinds of weather(N.E Scotland) walking in wild, wet, windy weather for at least an hour on the school run (I don't drive).

Only my knees get damp, because the Haven doesn't cover them. I would get it exchanged!

teddies · 07/01/2011 20:19

Don't try to return your Haven to Field and Trek for a refund if it is not the right coat for you and you have bought it in an actual shop - they won't do it. They will only exchange for a different item or give a credit voucher. And they won't order into the shop any item that they have in other shops, or on their website, and there is no customer service phone number, and I am not all that impressed by their customer service actually.

I didn't know, but they have been taken over by Sports Direct.com and are not the rugged outdoorsy helpful place they once were. Sad

gibba8 · 07/01/2011 20:48

I agree teddies - Field and Trek customer services are shocking. You can return items if bought online but not if bought instore!
Our local store is selling off all stock (though not cheaply) and closing down.
